Have you tried adding the media and downloading the updates? It should work
regardless of what's in the list file.

[Bug 5391] [Hardware] No sound w/Shuttle AK32E motherboard onboard device

http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5391

------- Additional Comments From swap38 <at> no-log.org 2003-01-10 01:05 -------
i have the same problem with my shuttle AK32A motherboard (same via "ac97"
chipset)

it work great with olds mandrake distribs (and with windows) but not with 9.1
and 9.2 rc2

actually (9.2 rc2), i can hear my sounds + an horrible noise like digital
scratch over it.

someone in mandrakeexpert says that it works better with OSS instead of alsa,
but i never find how to do that.

with Mandrake 9.1 and the problem has been discussed on the ALSA website.
Unfortunately, it still doesn't work with 9.2 RC1.

My bad. You're right, it doesn't work.

It's fixed now. The way urpmi handles this changed, so now all the old
distribs do it one way and 9.2+ do it another way.

Every new page should be validated.
It takes some hours and saves tens of hours later.
I suggest to use a XHTML - CSS which is the most compliant and easy way to
achieve a good accessibility.

[Bug 1881] [drakxtools] Configuration corrupted on exiting Drakconnect GUI

http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1881

------- Additional Comments From 111mandrake <at> weirdlab.com 2003-01-10 02:04 -------
I have the same problems. Draconnect is useless, you have to find tricks to make
it work.

I have setup two profiles, but I can't really use them since, for some reason,
drakconnect wants to use the same gateway for both.

I have two profiles with the same name but one is capitalized. Drakconnect
chokes when I want to delete one.

This is not RC quality software, but more like beta.

You know what? This is not the place to discuss this.

I'm not interested in hearing this right now. Or would you prefer I spend
my time validating my app rather than working on security updates?

It'll all get straightened out some point. Until then, don't worry about
it.

well lets just say if you ever need to worry about the DVD then you have
bigger problems also (of the acronym kind ie NSA FBI GRU KGB CIA ...)

        ReportedBy: home <at> simonb.org.uk

MDK9.2RC2. Totem updated to Cooker version. On starting, closing or playing a
new media file with Totem I often get
'Application "totem" (process xxxx) has crashed due to fatal error. (Aborted)'

When I press the Close button it starts up anyway and works. Often I can not
close the application. It just goes to a black screen and becomes
non-responsive. I have to use XKill to stop it.

http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/ is ...

... anti-aliased. well kinda. read on.
Ok after wgetting http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/ and taking a closer look at
it. It quickly became clear that changind a few lines o css wasn't gonna
solve any problems w/ fonts on the site (as i was previously led to believe).
Boo hoo. Well since I've (naively) been asking/begging/whining for the fonts
to be changed i decided to do something about it. It looked like _someone_
had started changing the fonts already so i decided to help him along.
the whole english site w/ the exception of the docs directory has been
mirrored at
http://www.i-kubed.org/en/

See, instead of just whining, and having you ask "where's the code" or tell me
"do something about it" (which you guys would never do 'cause you're too
nice) i did do something about it. So there you have it. There is the "code".
If any mdk employees on here can pass this on to whoever, then that would be
great. If there is absolutely no chance at all of the fonts being changed
just tell me and i'll go away.

The whole english site took about 3 hours (w/out stopping to do) so it
shouldn't take more than a week for all the official sites. btw I'd be
interested in doing a css version if and cleaning up the html a tad too. How
that for a contribution :) take that wiki-ers :) I did _finally_ find the
wiki it's bookmarked for the time being.
