Search for technical support of Foundation Model

Hi all,

Now, we want to boot a specific operation system running on Foundation Model. Because Foundation Model isa
virtual platform incorporating an AArch64 architecture
<http://www.arm.com/zh/products/tools/development-tools-for-armv8.php> simulation model, we
need more detailed and comprehensive technical support.

What we want to know as following:

First, whether Foundation Model can support debugging application and kernel code which should need to
run on Foundation Model step by step? If Foundation Model can support debug, what should we do next? If
Foundation Model cannot support debug,

are there some other tools which can support debugging application and kernel code? Are there some
documents which can introduce the way to use the tool?

Second, whether Foundation Model can support usb driver, network driver? If Foundation Model can support
them, how we can transmit boot loader to Foundation Model and can boot loader run on Foundation Model?

ยท Third, how many boot modes Foundation Model can support? Such as uBoot, whether Foundation Model can
support the bootmode <app:ds:starting%20mode> such as aBoot? The introduction of aBoot is as following:http://wiki.barrelfish.org/PandaBoard

Thanks

Your call (not only ;) I suspect your project has some stakeholders
requirements around OE native approach).
I'm guessing you'll have to make some adjustments if you want to
submit your pre-built images jobs to LAVA.

gator profiling

hi
When i download the
git.linaro.org/git-ro/landing-teams/working/arm/kernel.git, there are
branches relates to gator.
I set up the enviroment at TC2 with gator and Dstream. I want to show
the CPU frequencies of big and little clusters, so i add code in gator
to get the frequency of the clusters. But it seems that gator wakes
up in period and send out the message. So is there any way that make
gator to wake up based on events of cpu frequency changing, and send
out the message to Dstream?

Patch merge request for STE Snowball build failure on linux-arm-soc-for-next.

Hi,

There is a build failure for STE Snowball on "linux-arm-soc-for-next" branch in Linaro Kernel CI system:

https://ci.linaro.org/jenkins/job/linux-arm-soc-for-next/hwpack=snowball,label=kernel_cloud/46/console

which is caused by:

01:31:32 /mnt/ci_build/workspace/linux-arm-soc-for-next/hwpack/snowball/label/kernel_cloud/drivers/mfd/ab8500-debugfs.c:95:23: fatal error: mach/irqs.h: No such file or directory

01:31:32 make[2]: *** [drivers/mfd] Error 2
01:31:32 make[1]: *** [drivers] Error 2

To solve this issue, here is the patch which Linux Walleij provided on 11 April 2013:

https://lkml.org/lkml/2013/4/11/101

Would anyone like to merge the patch to fix this compiling error?

Thank you in advance for your efforts!

[GIT PULL]: ll-interactive-gov-updates : Per policy governor instance

Hi Andrey,

I have got some important updates for Android's Interactive Governor.
These are already sent to Todd Poyner for inclusion into AOSP and
we are awaiting a response.

These changes are important for ARM big LITTLE platforms which
want multiple instances of a governor to be available for a multi
package system.

Until then, we want these patches to land into linux-linaro release via
my tree.

Below is what I did to generate this branch:

- Checked out: https://git.linaro.org/gitweb?p=people/jstultz/android.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/linaro-android-3.10-experimental-merge
- Merged v3.10-rc2 into it (As I had some cpufreq core patches included here)
- Applied my patches (8) over it

I am not able to generate a formal PULL request using 'git request-pull'
as 3.10-rc2 is not yet there in your tree.

Please pull git://git.linaro.org/arm/big.LITTLE/mp.git
ll-interactive-gov-updates
into linux-linaro.

Help for Foundation model

Hi all,

Foundation model is closed source propertiary software, but i want to know how i can get more detailed and
comprehensive technical support?

I want to know the work procedure of boot wrapper. For example, make CROSS_COMPILE=aarch64-linux-gnu-
BOOTARGS='"root=/dev/vda2 consolelog=9 rw console=ttyAMA0"'
FDT_SRC=vexpress-foundation-v8.dts IMAGE=linux-system-foundation.axf.
What use are the arguments of BOOTARGS and FDT_SRC? Whether they are used by foundation model or real OS ?
what real use is vexpress-foundation-v8.dts?

Thanks

Hwpacks for OE builds?

hi there,

i am aware and familiar with hwpacks that were initially designed and used to generate ubuntu/android Linaro images.

however i don't know if hwpacks are being used for OE images nowadays? OE has intrinsic mechanism to generate/construct full images which include machine dependent binaries as well as generic components. So are we still using hwpacks for building OE images somehow or not? Can someone point me to relevant documentation?

in the short future i will have to build OE images for a couple of different h/w boards, so i am trying to understand the process to do that a-la Linaro.

thanks

nicolas
