Error in Berkeley DB-4.4.20

Hi, everybody

I am compiling Berkeley DB-4.4.20 and I have this
error.

---------------------------------------------------------
/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.0.3/../../../../include/c++/4.0.3/backward/backward_warning.h:32:2:

header. Please consider using one of the 32 headers found in section
17.4.1.2 of the C++ standard. Examples include substituting the <X> header
for the <X.h> header for C++ includes, or <iostream> instead of the
deprecated header <iostream.h>. To disable this warning use
-Wno-deprecated.

That's odd. I didn't get any warnings about using deprecated c++
headers when building db.

I think something has gone wrong building the C++ compiler in gcc.
When you run the configure for db-4.4.20, what does it say about
"checking whether C++ supports the ISO C++ standard includes"? It
should say "yes". If you fail that, then the build will try to include
deprecated headers.

well I don't have any idea what's going on.

I'll rebuild the tool and begin againg.

Thanks

Did you try to run configure again and seeing the output of "checking
whether C++ supports the ISO C++ standard includes"?

There are some more details about this failure in the file config.log.
Here's what it looks like for me.

configure:5387: checking whether C++ supports the ISO C++ standard includes
configure:5417: g++ -c -O2 -pipe  -D_GNU_SOURCE -D_REENTRANT conftest.cc >&5
configure:5423: $? = 0

For you there will be a long failure below the line that starts with
g++ -c ... That might tell us something about why g++ is screwed up
for you.

Re: Error in Berkeley DB-4.4.20

Hi Dan

That's the problem

configure:5387: checking whether C++ supports the ISO C++ standard
includes
configure:5417: g++ -c -O  -D_GNU_SOURCE -D_REENTRANT conftest.cc >&5
/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.0.3/../../../../include/c++/4.0.3/bits/stl_algo
.h: In function '_RandomAccessIterator std::find(_RandomAccessIterator,
_RandomA
ccessIterator, const _Tp&, std::random_access_iterator_tag)':
/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.0.3/../../../../include/c++/4.0.3/bits/stl_algo
.h:241: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault

I don't understand ????!!!!!!

Saludos
Ruben.

Hi, Ruben. Please don't top-post the replies. See here for an explanation.

http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/#netiquette

Back to your problem. Did you run the gcc testsuite when you built it?
If so, did the g++ tests pass? The summary gave me this:

                === g++ tests ===

Running target unix
XPASS: g++.old-deja/g++.other/init5.C execution test

                === g++ Summary ===

# of expected passes            11463

glibc-2.3.4 make check error

Hi all,

first of all I am new to this list but not totally new to linux (have
used RH 5.1 and 7.? and also Suse 9.1).
Now I am trying to build a LFS on my PII, 350MHz, 96MB

So far everything has went well, and the minor mistakes I made could be
solved by going through the archives of this list and linuxquestions.org

Unfortunatly now I am stuck at chapter 6.11 from the book (V6.1.1)
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/view/stable/chapter06/glibc.html
My host is the according LifeCD

After:

make -k check >glibc-check-log 2>&1

grep Error glibc-check-log

I got:

Make[2]: *** [/sources/glibc-build/posix/bug-regex24.out] Error 1
Make[2]: *** [/sources/glibc-build/posix/tst-regex2.out] Error 1
Make[2]: [/sources/glibc/posix/annexc.out] Error 1 (ignored)
Make[1]: *** [posix/tests] Error 2
make: *** [check] Error 2

I've checked the archives back till january 2005 and read every post about glibc, and found that annexc.out
can be ignored (like it says)
but I don't know about the other two.
