Over here we sometimes get them in packets of chips that the kids use as
game pieces. They are also found in kids books and fridge magnets. I
think if you had the money they could be made thin enough and flexible
enough to be no harder than a thickish transfer. How durable they are is
a different story :)

Resent to list. Sorry for the duplicate, Shane, I keep forgetting to
hit reply all instead of just reply.

I though about that, but I don't think it'll have quite the same
effect unless the viewer is jumping from side to side, which I don't
expect many people to do.

Nice idea, though it would require quite a few to make a cursor that
fills the whole char area (you know what I mean right, the big
full-size one), which would make the shirt quite heavy, although a
line at the bottom would be alright.

Nowadays everything has infrared and wireless. If it's big enough, it
gets Gigabit and a DVD burner.

I would think that a persons normal movement would be enough to make it
flicker. Remember those cards have about 10 pictures which change over a
very small angle. If you have 5 white and 5 black alternating then just
walking would produce enough angle displacement.

I was thinking about an A4-sized piece I've at home (somewhere) which
only has 2 sides, although it has a 3D effect, which is probably why.
I've not that much experience with the other ones, but 10 sides sounds
good.

OK, let's talk merchandising! How about a T-shirt like this:

Front: I compiled Linux From Scratch ...
Back: ... and all i got was this lousy command line!

Comments?

Cheers,

question about Python and Localehandling

Hi folks.

I'm in the process of building a carpc, ie. a box to put in my car with
all my CD's as mp3's etc. I've looked at different sw for the frontend
and has for now landed on pycar (http://www.pymedia.org/). As the name
implies it's python-based and I have a hell of a time to get it
running. The problem seams to be related to locale-setup on my box. I
must admit that I've been lazy so far, and skipped setting up all the
LC_* stuff due to my lack of knowledge. Anyhow, below is the result of
running the app. Can anyone hit me over the head with a cluebat on this ?

    bash-3.00# echo $LC_ALL
    C
    bash-3.00# echo $LANG
    C
    bash-3.00# python pycar.py

irc

Hi,

I never use irc so I have no idea what it is like on the LFS irc
channel. As a result of my years of promoting lfs as an excellent
learning experience a fellow consultant is giving it a try. He is a
professional programmer of significant background. He logged into the
lfs irc to ask a simple question and someone there was a total dick.

Don't be a dick.

Please tell me who was rude to your friend so the issue can be addressed
on the IRC network. If he has the date/time, will you please provide it
also? Thank you.

Learn to be more professional in the mailing lists. There is no need to be
unprofessional here after someone else wasn't professional. It would be
greatly appreciated since more people are active here than on the IRC
server.
