 The default path for pkg-config is actualy
 /usr/lib/pkgconfig:/usr/share/pkgconfig not just /usr/lib/pkgconfig.

 If using another shell that isn't Bourne Shell compatible MesaLib-6.5
 fails to compile at the 'make linux-dri' step. I happen to be using ZSH
 when compiling. The error occurs because the file
 'src/mesa/drivers/dri/Makefile.template' includes a '>& /dev/null' in the
 makedepend step which can cause problems with non-borne shell shells.

 for xorg 7.1, datadir is set to --datadir=$XORG_PREFIX/lib" . This swith
 cause aclocal file and icons file at least to be install in
 $XORG_PREFIX/lib despite they will better be in $XORG_PREFIX/share

 OK. No word from DJ. I'm gonna start moving xterm to general utilities,
 MesaLib to X libraries, libdrm to general libraries, and rman to general
 utilities. I'll open a new bug for the movement. I'll close this bug when
 xterm is updated.

 xterm, MesaLib, libdrm and rman are all external packages developed
 outside of Xorg. Where these are shipped with the tarballs for the
 monolithis Xorg-6 and XFree86, they are not provided for the Xorg-7.x
 releases.

 The plan is to move these packages out of the Xorg-7 chapter and into more
 general chapters. xterm and rman will be in general utilities, MesaLib
 will be in X libraries, and libdrm will be in general libraries.
 Additionally, a note in the form of an xinclude will be added to the top
 of these 4 packages notifying the user that they should only be built if
 you are using Xorg-7 and they are provided by Xorg-6 and XFree86.

 Additionally, xterm will be updated to the current 218 version which will
 fix the security vulnerability in #2100.

 Please speak up if this plan doesn't work for you.

The changes in this release are as follows:
This release adds automatic full-screen image scaling (both up and
down), which is good for viewing galleries. There are many fixes. SDL
support has been removed (buggy). Better parsing of FTP directories.
The licence has been slightly changed to allow linking with OpenSSL.
Automatic guessing of content-type by extension in misconfigured
servers has been added.

Project description:
Links is graphics and text mode WWW browser, similar to Lynx. It
displays tables, frames, downloads on background, uses HTTP/1.1
keepalive connections, and features Javascript. In graphics mode it
displays PNG, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, and XBM pictures, runs external
bindings on other types, and features anti-aliased font, smooth image
zooming, 48-bit dithering, and gamma and aspect ratio correction.

 Got ahead of myself with luit. We're using the one developed by Xorg, not
 the one Tom Dickey develops. That's a separate issue to think about. It
