West Hartford, CT (PRWeb) December 12, 2006 -- (PR.COM)-- WSI (We Simplify the Internet) is working to bring local families face-to-face with their loved ones anywhere in the world this holiday season using Video Email. WSI Consultants Megan Rakich and Joyce Therieault and their team of sponsors (Home Loan Experts, Radio Disney, University of Hartford and New England Jingles) are offering this free service on Saturday, December 16, 2006 in Glastonbury, Connecticut between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

For U.S. soldiers in Iraq and their families, any kind of communication provides a much needed dose of the home life they miss and a break from the daily realities of war. Now, thanks to video email technology, WSI is offering families in the West Hartford area that have loved ones in Iraq or Afghanistan a video email to communicate messages to their families and friends stationed overseas.

Video Email is unique in that the video file is not sent as an attachment within the email (which can slow email delivery and get accidentally deleted by anti-virus or spam filters). Instead, the video is stored on WSI's secure Video Email server which allows each message to be streamed live from the email.

The video email will give soldiers "virtual bonding" time with their family and friends. WSI will be able capture live moments using a simple video camera and microphone. The soldier will receive a full-color- Internet-ready video in the form of an email.

"We want to give something to those families who have husbands, wives and children that are greatly missed during the holiday season and throughout the year," said WSI Consultant Joyce Therieault.

In a war that is half a world away, a soldier will be able to open his or her email and see their spouse, children, friends and family as if they were watching a live video on television. Husbands and wives can hold up fast-growing newborn babies, blow their soldiers a kiss, or read a letter. Children can show off how much they've grown, show-off a missing tooth or talk about what they learned in school. Parents can send wishes for a safe return.

The video email service is free for families who have loved ones in Iraq. Any soldier or family member can come to:

Hershey Felder, Selection In Musical Instruments Shopping

Hershey Felder, Selection In Musical Instruments Shopping

There is a wide selection of musical instruments shopping enthusiasts find when they start researching all of the instruments their child is interested in. One selection in musical instruments shopping might be for a tuba, and other selections could include violins, drums, flutes, and clarinets.

St Pete Beach, FL, (PRWeb) January 31, 2007--
There's nothing new about travel insurance comparison websites, but they tend to offer little more than a long and confusing list of what's around, meaning the start of an arduous trek - not across the Himalayas in search of enlightenment but through lists of policies in search of suitable cover.

, however, is 'much more than just a list', as its advertising puts it. It cuts the legwork by providing filters to exclude products with too little or too much cover, leaving only a shortlist of relevant products. It also addresses the mountains of policies that limit their coverage of certain 'risks', such as hazardous activities and pre-existing medical conditions: by using the exclusive 'narrow my choice' option, customers are able to focus on the relevant benefits and sort results by the quality of a benefit, as well as by price or provider.

David Wagstaff, U.K. manager for Squaremouth.co.uk, says: "What travel insurance doesn't include may surprise people. In fact, a large percentage of travellers unknowingly buy inadequate cover. Others, meanwhile - such as the sporty types and those with a pre-existing medical condition - may know what they need but are unaware the policy they purchase does not include that cover. With the right tools, though, they can all easily locate the most suitable products. Our customers can enjoy their travel safe in the knowledge they have the right cover for them - at the right price."

Once customers have found what they want, they can immediately and securely purchase the policy or receive a single or multiple policy quote by email; then, when they are ready to purchase, a link from the email will take them directly to a secure shopping cart.

Customers can also have confidence in the products featured on Squaremouth.co.uk, as it runs a strict zero complaint tolerance policy. Managing director, Chris Harvey, says: "We work on behalf of our customers, and if anyone has a complaint against an insurance carrier that cannot be resolved to our satisfaction, we will remove the carrier from our site and no longer sell its products."

recent spam

This person gets around.

I'm also on the OpenMoko community discussion list. These spams are
showing up there too. Same name and address:

"Super Star" <candyshop999 <at> gmail.com>

So somebody is methodically going around to various open-source-related
lists and subscribing, so they can enlighten us all for a while.

Judging by the headers, these are coming through Google's servers, so
it's a real gmail account, not just a Joe Job spoof.

Anybody have any experience dealing with gmail admins? Maybe we can get
this account deleted.

developer keys needed for rooting around?

Originally, as I undertsand it, developer keys were going to be needed
in order to

* install a new operating system, go kernel hacking
* change the firmware

and things at this level of detail.

Today I heard on #sugar that a proposed short-term consequence of losing
vserver was requiring developer keys in order for children to get root on
their machines.

I hope I misunderstood; this would clearly be a bug. Can someone explain
the issues surrounding giving users root when they explicitly request it,
and when this would and would not be possible under rainbow?

activation failure screen is unclear

When you fail to activate a machine, the failure screen is purely iconic
and shows three icons for the methods used to test for an activation key.

The result is quite incomprehensible, and doesn't obviously suggest a way
to remedy the problem. It's not even clear how to convey the problem to
someone else over irc or a phone -- there is no error name or number, and
no explanatory text.

Since some of the people intended to understand and respond to this error
are adults who are presumed able to read the release and activation notes,
there should be a simple message describing what has happened in those
languages. This text could be part of the bitmap, so that no fonts need
to be loaded first.

I expect many, many children to encounter this screen; for them it will be
the first major point of frustration. We should make ths as user-friendly
as possible.
