Problem finding wireless adapter device

When I went to the webpage via http://localhost:18020/ and uploaded my xp
device drivers to it, the driverloader could not find my wireless adapter
which was already connected to the computer
Why is this so?

Re: Problem finding wireless adapter device

Hi,

we do not see a wireless device in the output of the 'cat
/proc/bus/usb/devices' command in a root shell, we can see a USB device
with USB ID 046D:C509 but it doesn't seem to be a wireless device. Did
you generate the dump while the wireless device is attached to the machine?

As long as you do not see your wireless device in the output of the
previous command, you will be unable to use DriverLoader.

Problem with driverloader

I am using driverloader on a FC6 system with a Netgear WG311v2 adapter.
I am using the board in ad-hoc mode (master does not seem to be
supported) to work as a router for other computers to access the
internet. The board is recognized and working for a while but ceases to
work. After running dldrconfig again the board will work for some time
again (sometimes only minutes). I am using the latest W2K/XP routines
available for this board. I have used it previously on an older system
with RH9 and an older version of driverloader without a problem.

Re: Linux driver for Buffalo wli-cb-g54s notebook adapter

Hi,

it is important to note that DriverLoader 2.35 will not work with a
2.6.19.x kernel. To solve this issue, you can patch DriverLoader with
the 'dldrconfig --patch' command in a root shell.

Official support for the 2.6.19.x kernel will be added in the next release.

Re: Problem with driverloader

Hi,

you are right, the master mode is not supported by DriverLoader.

Did you tried to connect to an access point (managed mode) to see if you
have the same stability issue or not?

Re: Problem with driverloader

The board is sitting on our server which has the internet connection and
serves as firewall, router and wlan access point. That is why I am using
it in ad-hoc mode. It would be preferrable to use it in master mode to
make it an access point but neither the board nor driverloader does
support this.

Re: Problem with driverloader

Hi,

with the setup you have descried, you can't use the managed mode but
DriverLoader is mostly tested with the managed mode these days given the
fact that almost all users want to use DriverLoader in that mode. It is
always possible that this is a ad-hoc specific issue we are not aware
of, you could try in managed more using a test setup to see if you have
a similar stability issue or not?
