Cobbler 2.0.1 Triggers?

Hej.

My old trigger don't work any more. None of my test triggers are
executed either.
I have them in

/var/lib/cobbler/triggers/install/post

How are you supposed to write triggers these days?

I am using s shorter variant of the cfenginge ppkeys trigger found on.
https://fedorahosted.org/cobbler/wiki/CobblerTriggers

I have the cfengine on the same server as cobbler. But it dont work any
more.

I have also tried to copy and edit a trigger in the.
site-packages/cobbler/modules
i used the install_post_log.py as template

But id don't seam to run either.

Any one could tell me how to do it the right way?

cheers

Installing a x86_64 CentOS 5.4 VM on an x86_64 CentOS 5.4 host

All:

I am experiencing an oddity I just cannot explain.  I recently moved from CentOS 5.3 to 5.4.  I have this x86_64 machine as a host.

I am attempting to install an x86_64 VM on the x86_64 host using KOAN.  Everything appears to be working as I'd expect...however, when it gets to installing glibc-common-2.5-42-x86_64 - it hangs.  Well actually it gets to 1% and seems to sit there.  Initially I thought maybe I did some imports wrong, set my system up wrong, etc.  On this same host I was able to install a 32 bit CentOS 5.4 guest...

I didn't see anything amiss looking at the various virtual consoles...

Has anyone had any troubles/issues with CentOS 5.4?

Or, anything anyone can suggest I examine to see what may be causing the hang?

I do know when this particular machine was my Cobbler server and running CentOS 5.3 x86_64 - it never had an issue.  I just updated the kernel to 2.6.18-164.6.1.el5xen but that didn't help either...

Thanks in advance!

Scot

Additionally - I am using the Xen kernel :)

Also, I kicked off KOAN around 8 am this morning...  Right now the glibc-common installation is now at 12% - little over 3 hours to reach 12% :(

It sounds like an anaconda problem. At this point cobbler/koan should
be completely out of the equation. Is it downloading glibc-common or
actually installing? If it is downloading that might be an issue
because the install source is on the cobbler server, but if it is
installing, that is completely out of cobbler's hands. Maybe
glibc-common is bad on whatever media you imported the distro from?

Re: Installing a x86_64 CentOS 5.4 VM on an x86_64 CentOS 5.4 host

For starters (meaning before I put cobbler on the host), the host itself was KOAN'd (with a --replace-self)
from the same Cobbler server and therefore the same glibc-common RPM. Without going into too much detail I
have done a --replace-self a few times and the host always seems to reinstall completely in under 10 minutes.

I believe it is installing - the progress bar indicated 1% (fairly quickly) - but took almost 3.25 hrs to
reach 12%. I finally killed it when I installed Cobbler on the host itself - and then attempted a KOAN VM
install from that host itself...

I could try to re-download the DVD ISO again. I considered that earlier too - but didn't as the host seems to
install OK using the same RPMs...

SOLVED!!! Re: Installing a x86_64 CentOS 5.4 VM on an x86_64 CentOS 5.4 host

Woo hoo - kudos to Brenton Leanhardt - he's the man!

He had asked me how much memory I was allocating to my guest VM... My machine is RAM constrained (as in it has 1
GB), so I was only allocating 256 MB :o Apparently I need a minimum of 512 MB ;) Oops!

Its installing just fine now :)

Thanks y'all for the help!

Scot
