Sounds like the way to go. This will probably delay marking lapack-atlas and
friends as stable a bit, but that's not a big issue.

In related news, I've converted sys-cluster/hpl to virtual/lapack. This leaves
scilab as the last package that still requires the old infrastructure.

Modular Arithmetic

Hello, fellow Gentoos.

Does anyone know any bc-like calculator dedicated to modular
arithmetic? With arbitrary precision of course.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Modular Arithmetic

I'm not sure, but I think some of the number theory/group theory
packages will do modular arithmetic. You could certainly do it in Maxima.

You can try giac and its graphical interface xcas:

http://xcas.sourceforge.net

You can find the necessary packages here:

"giac" or "ginac"?

It is giac... ginac is another project of the same kind.
But in my point of view, giac is more powerful (well, it is just a
preference :) ).
