Gentoo asciiart logo?

Hello!

I recently stumbled over this image:

http://dkmillares.deviantart.com/art/Gentoo-Logo-105151561?q=boost%3Apopular%20gentoo&qo=90

Is there some documented way how to get this very graphic to the
terminal? If not: where would you expect such documentation?

Thanks,

Sebastian

Sorry Sebastian this should go to the list instead. Now sending it again
for everyone:

Take a look at /etc/issue.logo (part of sys-apps/baselayout). Replace
/etc/issue with this one to get it at the login screen.

New developer: Nathan Phillip Brink (binki)

Good morning fellow developers,

It is my pleasure to announce Nathan Phillip Brink as
the newest developer of our project.
Nathan is from Dearborn, MI (USA) and he will join the
sunrise and net-irc teams. This is how he describes himself:

"I was born in Tampa Bay, Florida. My family moved up to Dearborn,
Michigan to be closer to our extended family when I was one year
old. As I have grown up, I was encouraged to learn to play the trumpet
and I've been involved in band at each school I have attended. I am
now attending Calvin College ( http://calvin.edu/ ) and intend to get
a Computer Science degree."

I don't think net-irc needs more bugs, so skip the usual workload
assignment for now :).
Just give him a nice and warm welcome \o/

Regards,

Welcome aboard... Are you sure we can't give him more bugs??

On a different note, go trumpet!! I've been playing for 14 years. Jazz
and Wind Ensembles mostly.

Re: Arch teams Resources (round 2) - General issues

Hi.

Sometime ago after the issue of "slacking arches" was raised again at a
council meeting, I've started an internal discussion with Gentoo's arch
teams, to determine the current status of the arch teams and to check
how we could help improve it.

I'm now quoting one email I've sent in the last round, hoping to start a
public discussion about two issues raised internally.
I'm bcc'ing the arch teams so they're aware of this new thread and to
give them a chance to chime in.

7. General issues

Seems I forgot a few general issues that were raised in the previous thread.

 * lack of man power and burn-out

As some arch team members have mentioned, one of the most important
issues affecting arch teams is a general lack of man-power which
frequently leads to developer burn-out.

I've got access to some of our web logs, which gave me an idea. What if
we estimate how many installations were successfully completed on each
architecture by looking at visits to the last page of the handbook? This
won't be a perfect measure for various reasons, but it's better than
nothing.

Here's one day's worth of visits to part 11 of the install guide, which
is the last page with actual content (adding users, cleaning up):

    190 x86
    150 amd64
     85 sparc
     83 ppc
     82 hppa
     59 ppc64
     54 alpha
     17 mips
     11 arm
