New developer: Maciej Mrozowski (reavertm)

One new member for the KDE 4. I bet all the older members must have
started just slacking and let all the new guys do the work. Maciej also
has great potential as a slacker as the current deadline 2009-08-31 in
his developer bug says. Maciej hails us from Wrocław, Poland. He's
currently successfully delaying writing hi Computer Science master
thesis. On his free time he likes to play the guitar hard, fast, heavy
(and usually boring).

Regards,
Petteri

New developer: Justin Lecher (jlec)

It's time to introduce the latest addition to the German conspiracy.
From Düsseldorf, Germany we have Justin "jlec" Lecher. He's joining us
to help with sunrise, bug-wrangling and science. He says he's
experienced in cooking nice meals so maybe we will see the birth of the
Gentoo cooking project in the near future.

This is how he describes himself:

I am a scientist. Love to work with and on protein related topics. My
main interest lies on the structure/function relationship. Currently I
am doing my Ph.D. work on the structure of accessory Proteins from the
HIV and the SARS Corona Virus using NMR and X-ray crystallographic
techniques.

In my freetime I spent a lot of time on rocks. I am doing climbing,
which makes me all happy alot. And some years ago it gave my a nice
little titanium screw in my left ellbow.

Regards,
Petteri

Input for FOSDEM talks

http://fosdem.org/2010/schedule/devrooms/distributions

I have two talks:

http://fosdem.org/2010/schedule/events/dist_hr_management
http://fosdem.org/2010/schedule/events/dist_good_upstream

Especially for the latter feel free to submit anything you would like to
see upstream do when they maintain their projects and I will incorporate
those things into my session. I will be mostly away until Wednesday as I
will be on a cruise to Stockholm.

Regards,
Petteri

Maciej,
congratulations for getting the "official" hat. I won't welcome you to
the team as you've been part of it for quite some time now ;)

Petteri,
besides being a good school for "slacking", the KDE team also seems to
teach people to look around as a few have spread (infest?) around the
tree :P

Fwd: [FOSDEM-Dist2010] Post mortem: feedback please!

-------- Original Message --------
Subject: [FOSDEM-Dist2010] Post mortem: feedback please!

Hi all,

Since this is the first time we had a multi-distro devroom at FOSDEM, I
agreed to have a post-mortem chat with Pascal Bleser and Matthias Guns
to see if and what we could improve towards next year.

To do that properly, we will need feedback from as many people as
possible: distro coordinators, visitors, speakers, everyone. Please be
so kind as to let us know what you thought of the distro devroom. Even
if you send us a mail which consists of nothing more than something like
'I love it, please do so again' or 'it was crap, I hate it, please do
the distro devrooms again next year', it would be valuable to know that.

Also, it would be nice if people could forward this request in their
respective communities.

Things I'll note already:
- I need to ask for moderators a bit more early :-)
- More volunteers from other distributions would be nice. As it is, the
Debian crowd did almost everything, from moderating to manning the
cameras to cleaning up after the fact. There was some help from other
distributions (most notably from Dominique Dumont who did video in

Developer living on north Italy available for a drink

Hello list,

I'm currently living at Nice-France and I'll be traveling in around two
weeks over north Italy just for the sake of it.

Is there some developer living around wanting to have a drink?

Happy committing,
