I'm running on a G3 800Mhz ibook, and I love it; personally I think it's a
perfect fit. I say follow the install directions on gentoo.org, and ask
questions here, irc at #gentoo, #gentoo-ppc, #gentoo-help and refer to
Kevin's page, it's a great resource.

I get exactly the same results with a manual build as I do with the
ebuild. Just gave it a try again to be sure, I still get the same race
condition. I also tried building amanda manually, didn't help the
situation either. I've run amanda and xinetd together before on ppc

Does anyone know if the exmlm archive/index capability works for this
(and the gentoo-ppc-dev) list?

I've tried following the directions from the help-email, but it just
barfs back the same instructions.

Just tried recompiling all dependencies of both xinetd and amanda, no
change. xinetd still races after the second connection. I'm pretty
much at a loss as to what to try next. :(

List inactive/broken?

Sorry to bother anyone, but I'm just wondering if this list is dead (I
have zero messages from it
this calendar year and my I never got back my one posting from earlier
this week).  I'm simply
trying to determine if my ISP is blocking the list for some unknown
reason or if this list is just
completely inactive. Either way, there's really no point in replying.

Re: List inactive/broken?

Dean,

The list may not be the most active, but there are posts from this
year. In fact, there are 8 for this week. Sounds like your ISP may be
blocking email from it.

Problems with yaboot and NIC

Hi,
I have some weird problems with the boot system of my new powerbook 12".
The first problem is that i can't start the macosx system. I suppose is a
problem with my yaboot.conf.
My mac-fdisk info is:

/dev/hda1 Apple_partition_map
/dev/hda2 Apple_Bootstrap               -> The yaboot bootstrap
/dev/hda3 Apple_UNIX_SVR2           -> Swap
/dev/hda4 Apple_UNIX_SVR2           -> root partition for gentoo
/dev/hda5 Apple_HFS                       -> MacOSX
/dev/hda6 Apple_Free                       -> ¿Why?
/dev/hda7 Apple_HFS                       -> Another Mac partition
/dev/hda8 Apple_Free

My yaboot.conf is:

boot=/dev/hda2
device=hd:
partition=4
delay=10
timeout=15
install=/usr/lib/yaboot/yaboot
magicboot=/usr/lib/yaboot/ofboot
image=/boot/vmlinux
              label=Linux
              root=/dev/hda4
              read-only
macosx=/dev/hda5
