Like Bouleetbil before, I stop my contributions to Frugalware, I need

Feel free to take and maintain my packages.
Thanks. :)

kernel 3.4 testing

I have finished up most of the work on kernel 3.4, and it is ready for testing. The only known problem
at this time is that the catalyst driver is 100% broken by this bump. If it is still broken at the end of
testing, then it will just haveĀ  to remain so until upstream gets off their ass and fixes it. Testing will
last for 7 days, just a day shy of the freeze. Testing information is below.

Add this to /etc/pacman-g2.conf, ensuring it is before current.

Include = /etc/pacman-g2/repos/ryuotesting2

Add this to /etc/pacman-g2/repos/ryuotesting2:

[ryuotesting2]
Server=http://ftp.frugalware.org/pub/other/people/ryuo/ryuotesting2/frugalware- <at> CARCH <at>

Replace @CARCH@ with your appropriate architecture.

Now:

pacman-g2 -Syu

And reboot. Thanks for testing.

kernel 3.3.6, dracut 018, testing

I need testing for new minor kernel bump, dracut, and other initrd changes. The main changes are
initial LVM support in initrd to expand future options. Also includes the newer package binaries and libs.
Finally, all the important packages used by the initrd are now in base. Testing information is below.

Add this to /etc/pacman-g2.conf, ensuring it is before current.

Include = /etc/pacman-g2/repos/ryuotesting2

Add this to /etc/pacman-g2/repos/ryuotesting2:

[ryuotesting2]
Server=http://ftp.frugalware.org/pub/other/people/ryuo/ryuotesting2/frugalware- <at> CARCH <at>

Replace @CARCH@ with your appropriate architecture.

Now:

pacman-g2 -Syu

And reboot. Thanks for testing.

plymouth, grub2, and initrd

I find the gui we use for plymouth and grub2 to be clunky and unneeded. I am proposing that
we drop support for these as a default setting and move them to an extra group where they can
be installed if it is desired, but otherwise not used by default.

Think about it. Most of your time is spent on the console or in X, and very little time is spent
in the boot up process. So, can we please disable this as a default setting? Thanks for reading.
