AuthenTec AES1660 (08ff:168b)

Hi all,
I'm new in this mailing-list. I have a Toshiba Tecra S11-M15 with the
following device:

$ lsusb | grep -i auth
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 08ff:168b AuthenTec, Inc.

I'm a Fedora user, this is my environment

$ uname -r
2.6.35.13-92.fc14.x86_64
$ rpm -q libfprint
libfprint-0.3.0-1.fc14.x86_64

According with the manufacturer
(http://support.authentec.com/KnowledgeBase/KBview/tabid/843/ArticleId/299/Identifying-your-Fingerprint-Sensor-Model.aspx)
this is a AES1660 sensor. Is there any way to make it working with
libfprint?

Regards,
Massimiliano

Building libfprint on Windows

Hello.

Anybody can tell me, how can I build libfprint on windows? How can I run configure script? Can anybody give me step by step instruction? I want to use libfprint in my project, but my project crossplatform, not linux only.

Best regards,
Nick.

Re: AuthenTec AES1660 (08ff:168b)

Hi,

I started working on deciphering the protocol for my AES1660 (identified by 08ff:1680) few months ago. I
didn't have time for that lately, but I am planning to get back to work. However if somebody wants to finish
it, I can give him all the information I explored about the protocol.

Massi, you are the first one who has different sensor with AES1660 chip. I am very interested in the logs for
your sensor to see the protocol differences between this two devices. Please read Fprint wiki and make the
logs of the protocol in action.

openembedded & bitbake

Hi, I'm trying to cross compile libfprint/fprint for an arm processor,
but I'm having some trouble.

Has anyone used openembedded and bitbake to cross compile it before
who could offer some advice or recipes?

Please send your patches to the list, they'll be reviewed and eventually
merged.

Yes.

In the future, it'll just have to wait until we do a release though.

Cheers

No, translations should go through Transifex, as Yuri did.

Cheers

Validity VFS Series proprietary driver

Hi all!

Don't know how far development for Validity's devices is. By change I
found a closed-source driver on their page:

http://www.validityinc.com/post.aspx?id=268

The page says it is for VFS 451 and VFS 471 only. I tried to get it run
on my VFS 301 (there should not be too much differences). I think it
checks USB ids so it does not accept my device. So I'll have to do some
-d work ...
