Re: Entheta frenzy!

Hey, DMCA reform advocates, Janet Weiland from the Church of
Scientology just threw us a nice slow one.

So now, instead of just the "controversial DMCA" it can be the
"controversial, Scientology-backed DMCA".

The San Jose Mercury News is pretty good about printing DMCA-related
letters to the editor, and believe you me, more people will see
letters there than even a "+5 TROLL" comment on your favorite
meta-news site where everybody dislikes the DMCA already.

Letters to the San Jose Mercury News Micro-Howto.

1. Pick one point to make. Express it in 2-4 paragraphs.

2. Fire up your mailer and send it to letters <at> sjmercury.com. Include
your postal address and phone number, which are needed for
verification but will not be published.

Here's an example.

To the editor:

Janet Weiland of the Church of Scientology, like other apologists
for the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, is wrong to claim the

They probably won't run anything from me so soon anyway. Other
people should send letters too, and feel free to make them nicer.

not that kind of insight. I'm referring to incite as in incitement. :P

I know. But "inciteful" is not a word, and it's too close to
"insightful" to be a clever neologism rather than a spelling mistake.

So you lose and I get all the PCs in your downline.

Those scripts are useless. I'm use oops to block banner ads (and other
stuff), and was able to go to all of the sites that are linked as
examples. Oh, and make sure you visit http://www.popdirt.com so that
you read groundbreaking and insightful journalistic prizes such as
'Mandy Moore posted on her official site message board a denial of New
York Post gossip columnist Liz Smith's claim that she was in heartbreak
after 'Try Seventeen' co-star Elijah Wood moved on from dating her to
dating Franka Potente. Mandy said, "Where do they get this stuff? Wow...
unreal. Can't a guy and girl be friends anymore? Geez.".'
