Is anyone still using this list?

As this list has not seen any traffic in over 6 months, and all development is
now being done on the v4l lists, I think my objections to shutting this list
down back in 2007 are now irrelevant.

Is there anyone who thinks this list (and/or this sourceforge project in
general) should remain open? Specifically, Michel and Jef, are you still
interested in having this mailing list around?

If no-one has any objections, I will close this list on 31 March 2011, and put
the project into unmaintained state.

Thoughts?

Cheers,

Allwyn.

Problem with zs211

Hi !

I am trying to install a little no-name webcam.

Plugin it in the USB port shows :

Hello,

I have a non-supported one, with the ID 17a1:0118. Data attached.

I am willing to cooperate with anything that I can, including testing patches.

I've noticed there's one here related:

I can also send the cam over by mail, if that is necessary.

I'm subscribed to the list.

Blessings.

gspca_vc032x: Sensor MI1320 in Samsung Q1 Ultra not working

Hello everyone,

I've installed the latest & greatest v4l drivers from
http://linuxtv.org/hg/~jfrancois/gspca/ and tried to use the camera on a
Samsung Q1 Ultra with them. The camera reports as

Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0ac8:c301 Z-Star Microelectronics Corp.

and the gspca_vc032x driver recognizes it - dmesg shows:

[ 703.298585] Linux video capture interface: v2.00
[ 703.313857] gspca: main v2.7.0 registered
[ 703.321625] gspca: probing 0ac8:c301
[ 703.322554] vc032x: check sensor header 20
[ 703.509321] vc032x: Sensor ID 148c (14)
[ 703.509334] vc032x: Find Sensor MI1320_SOC
[ 703.511699] gspca: probe ok
[ 703.511764] usbcore: registered new interface driver vc032x
[ 703.511775] vc032x: registered

However, no video tool works. cheese always reports "libv4l2: error
dequeuing buf: Input/output error" and the svv tool from the linuxtv
website just shows a green screen, nothing else. At one point, I've also
seen an error message in the log along the lines of "frame overflow
616416 > 614400".

Does anybody have a hint for me how to fix this?

Thanks, Yours, Florian

HP VGA cam.

I'm trying to write a driver for the HP VGA camera. USB ID: 15b8:6002.
The sensor is 7131r, and the bridge is probably vc0323 (although the inf
says it's vc0326). It's inf is the same inf which includes the po1200
sensor, which was added in December last year (The HP 2.0 Megapixel
camera). I am trying to use usbsnoop in a windows installation, but the
log size just does not cease to come to a halt (as is specified in the
microdia site), thereby leaving me unable to snoop the init sequence.
What might be wrong?

Also, is this the same sensor as hv7131r, as in vc032x.c?

OV7648 again, there is a working driver for it?

Hey There,

I'm googling for answers about this cam, and i've found out that the OmniVision (OV519) driver already supports this sensor.

Chicony iCam 330 (model DC-3120)
N/A OV519 (05a9:8519) OV7648, built-in microphone Working
for example. It had a different bridge, but what the hell, it can be somehow made for use with the SN9C120 bridge. Couldn't it?
I'm learning programming, i've learned asm, c(, java&c#) and other languages, so i would be able to do it, but gspca is a huge driver collection, and this OV519 is not one driver, but a family of it. I dont have even a tiny idea how and where to start..

Cheers,
David

OV7648

Hey Guys,

I have a guy and want to help him make his webcam work. 0x0C45:0x613E . It has a sensor OV7648. I see that there were some patches for this sensor, but with stock ubuntu kernel its not working, i've tried with gspca v4l2(?) driver from http://linuxtv.org/hg/~jfrancois/gspca/ but i still recieve:
[14096.729203] usb 6-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 8
[14096.896130] usb 6-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[14096.905671] usb 6-1: SN9C120 PC Camera Controller detected (vidid 0x0C45:0x613E)
[14097.041295] usb 6-1: No supported image sensor detected for this bridge

Can somebody help to make this work, or can we somehow participate?

Thank you,
David

hello

Hello, people.
I'm a new user of Ubuntu (the latest version), and I've been trying to install the famous package of driver spca50x, yet I can't...

my device is:
###
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 084d:0003 Minton Optic Industry Co., Inc. S-Cam F5 Digital Camera
###

...whereas I follow the following steps -to no avail as I've said-...

wget http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca50x/Download/gspcav1-20071224.tar.gz
tar zxvf gspcav1-20071224.tar.gz
cd gspcav1-20071224
sudo ./gspca_build

Is there something wrong with those commands?
