HP Officejet 710 Scanning

I just installed the hpoj software on Ubuntu 8.10 and have everything 
sort of workign, except scans are all grey scale and not color.

Draft printing with PSC 1410

Hi all,

I am using Mandriva Linux 2006 (kernel 2.6.12-12mdk) and drivers/support
packages hplib_model_data-0.9.4-6mdk, hpoj-0.91-8mdk,
hplib_hpijs-0.9.4-6mdk. When printing docs in Normal mode (color ink)
everything goes ok. When changing it to a draft quality (gray scale) the
printing is so weak that it is impossible to read, like it has impressed
nothing. It does not matter if the color is changed back to Normal, it
continues 'not to print'. It is necessary to reboot the machine. Can you
help. Thanks in advance.

PS: The printer was bought last year but just this last 
days I have been able to put it to work. Could has any relation with 
this period without usingit?

HP OfficeJet G85 and PLC5

Hi,

recently I bought a new WLAN router, which has an integrated printserver
(US Robotics USR029108). The printserver simply does not work although
everything else is normal, i.e. no error messages or strange behaviour.
After some discussions with the US Robotics support they suppose that
the problem is that the printer (a HP OfficeJet G85) only supports PLC3,
but the printserver needs support for PLC5. Is there anything I can do
about that, i.e. are there any updates for the printer? Or is there any
other solution?

I'd be glad to get some help, because I didn't actually find a lot of
useful information about this topic, so I thought it might be a good
idea to ask the experts. 

Currently I use hpoj 0.91 on Debian 3.1 and have no printing problems
except the one described above. (I know that there is hplip, but as long
as the printserver does not work I still use the parallel port.)

PSC 1410

I have this model, and i've experienced that when scanning something, I see 
some white artifacts and the detail isn't great at all.

furthermore, i seem only to be able to scan until 600dpi , while i was under 
the impression that this model was able to scan at 2400dpi.

i have scanned stuff, but i cannot add it as attachment, since the mail would 
be too large...

do you have any idea how to improve the image?

maybe some extra parameters in the config files?

Add printer to Image processing

Partial print problems

I am running hpoj 0.91-9 with hpijs 2.1.7 on a Cups server on Debian
Sarge. I'm finding the printing to be unreliable at best. At the moment,
I'm trying to print a postscript reduction of a powerpoint presentation. I
managed to get the first 6 pages to print with an lpr command. Then it
printed a page with a few lines of garbage at the top and then a lot of
blank pages.

I've tried printing pdf and ps forms of this document with no more
success.  I've tried using ptal-print directly from the machine on which
the printer is running and it prints the first page followed by the page
with the lines of garbage and then blank pages. I can't find any error log
in the cups logs files and I can't find any hpoj log files at all - are
there any?

Could this be something wrong with the file itself? Any suggestions, in
that case?

Problem on hp fficejet k550 dtn

Hi all, I've buyed a HP Officejet pro k550DTN and I've configured it
using ptal-init setup.

The only command (except ptal-hp display that doesn't work because the
printer have no display...) that fails is

Furthermore I've installed the printer using cups using the port
ptal:/hpjd:192.168.70.91 and the driver hpijs I've found on

Can you please help me found how can I solve the problem?
