Hello Leandro,

Have you try /port = /dev/ttyUSB0 on your .gnokiirc file ?

What is your lsusb output ?
I think your DKU-5 Cable need to be compliant with pl2303 driver. Some
USB DKU-5 Cable need to recompile the kernel and add the idProduct and
idVendor.

Browse the previous mailing list and find how to load pl2303 module.

gnokii for a new nokia series

Hi Pawel,

When i read the README on the gnokii Docs directory, the handset tested
seems like an old nokia series.

It's difficult for me to looking for that phone types in the
marketplace. I'm always using gnokii to handle the web based sms
project. Some of my sms project (client asking) wants to use a new Nokia
series, but i didn't found in this README the new series that had been
tested by you. So, I'm not confidence to buy a new model/series that not
listed in the gnokii Docs. I think the other gnokii users think the same
thing.

Need your suggestion, please.

We do inform about such possibility in the cases we are aware of. This
is the first reported case to get the phone using the bluetooth
connection.

Do you happen to have the debug output of the xgnokii session that
broke the phone. $HOME/.gnokii-errors would be also useful.

What you mean by "old nokia series"? There are Symbian phones, there
are some Series 40 phones like 6610 or 6170. They are not *that* old.
I'd rather depend on wiki information though. If anyone would prepare
the patch basing on the http://wiki.gnokii.org/index.php/Config
information, that would be welcome.

take care,

That probably was me. My phone, a 6230, had symptoms that were identical to
what you describe above. Sounds like we were probably doing about the same
thing when the phone crashed (I was using xgnokii as well). Only difference
is that I was using a DKU2 cable and driver, not bluetooth. I suppose that
eliminates something from the mix.

I had to get my phone re-flashed. I'm afraid I haven't used gnokii since.

Leandro, I also have a Nokia 3220, but I use a different cable to link to my computer. The cable I use is sold by a company called Kondor (www.Kondor.co.uk) and it is identified by my computer as

Bus 001 Device 002: ID 067b:2303 Prolific Technology, Inc. PL2303 Serial Port

With this cable, I can use gnokii fine, and I am also running Ubuntu Breezy Badger.

M.T,

IRDA, gnokii and nokia 6021

Hi,

I am wondering is there a posibility to connect from gnokii via IRDA my phone
NOKIA 6021. Previusly I have been using for a while model 6020 so in the
model section in /etc/gnokiirc configuration file I have left entry:

[kwiateek <at> tanatos kwiateek]# cat /etc/gnokiirc | grep model
# Set model to the model number of your phone. For the
# model = series60
# model = AT
model = 6020

Is that correct?

I am using GNOKI 0.6.10

Here is the log from gnokii monitoring tool:
