0.16.2 - unable to getting H+ work in Debian

Hi list, 

i've just buyed an old Hollywood Plus to have a clean tv-output, useful for 
tha vdr box i would like to have in the next future. I'm running Debian 
testing with 2.6 kernel, and i'm *not* using its em8300 package - i use to 
compile modules from myself, instead to use the debian packages and tools, 
just because modules source are often more recent than the Debian stuff. 

Anyway, i'm unable to get it works. My kernel version is 2.6.21-5, compiled 
from kernel.org source. I used the howto found at dxr3.sourceforge.net. 

Here are some info about the actual situation:

Did you copy the microcode from the source package ./microcode/
microcode0.bin to the required location and name /lib/firmware/em8300.bin ? 
Otherwise, you have to use em8300setup with the -f option to tell it where 
the microcode is.

First release-candidate for 0.16.3 -- please test!

Hi,

Linux kernel 2.6.22 is not out yet, and here is a the first release 
candidate for em8300 0.16.3, that should support this new kernel.

No autoconfiguration yet; not enough reports were received.

The tarball is available on the usual location:
  http://dxr3.sourceforge.net/download/em8300-0.16.3-rc1.tar.gz

As usual, all comments are welcome.

Please give it a try and report.

Works fine for me (using linux-2.6.22.1). Checked the modules only, though...

AC3 output

I have finally made AC3 ouput work on my DXR3, but only with oss. Is it 
possible to get this working, also with alsa ? Seems alsa get confused when 
loading 'em8300 audio_driver=alsa'. Here is the output from mplayer/alsalib:

[PATCH] Update *.desktop to desktop entry spec 1.0

Here's a trivial patch that removes the deprecated (in desktop entry spec 1.0) 
Encoding key from the *.desktop files and adds Version and StartupWMClass.

Seems to work for me with Fedora 7's latest 2.6.21.5 updates-testing kernel.  
Also compile-only tested with Fedora devel's 2.6.22-git1; compiles with 
warnings:
