Orphaning of gutenprint

Hi folks,

Just a reminder that gutenprint is orphaned (#479397), and that it
needs a maintainer. There will be a new stable release in a week
or so, and I'll set the maintiner to packages@... unless
anyone wishes to adopt it.

I'm happy to continue as a co-maintainer, but I don't have the time
or hardware to maintain, debug and bugfix.

Thanks,
Roger

So would the following make sense then? It seems there's been 0
followup to your upstream report, so I'm happy to do a QA upload with
that patch if you think it's ok (I don't have a printer, so can't test
this either)... Another option is to remove gutenprint and photoprint
from wheezy.

There's no hurry, I'll hold off for now if there's still a hope to have
something come from upstream in the not too distant future. Thanks!

Bug#654017: Updating the foo2zjs Uploaders list

Package: foo2zjs
Version: 20111202dfsg0-1
Severity: minor
User: mia@...
Usertags: mia-teammaint

Michael Koch <konqueror@...> has not been working on
the foo2zjs package for quite some time.

We are tracking their status in the MIA team and would like to ask you
to remove them from the Uploaders list of the package so we can close
that part of the file.

(If the person is listed as Maintainer, what we are asking is to please
step in as a new maintainer.)

Thanks.

Hi Ricardo, and thanks for your bugreport,

I have committed your requested change to foo2zjs' packaging repository:

	http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=collab-maint/foo2zjs.git;a=commitdiff;h=10a221d

This will be part of the next upstream version upload (but probably not
before).

Cheers,

Hi Roger, and thanks for your past work on gutenprint,

Although I confess that I don't understand much of the internals of
Gutenprint, that I don't have access to hardware that needs it; that I don't
have much time to debug and bugfix, I think it should probably be possible for
me to maintain it together with Till, if he agrees.

(I think I prefer to have gutenprint "loosely" maintained by myself under the
Printing Team umbrella, than orphaned; at least that tries to keep all
printing-related packages under a common umbrella. Finding more manpower than
mine's is of course on the TODO).

Till: would you consider maintaining gutenprint together with me in Debian,
assuming that we could reach a reasonable agreement on the current Ubuntu
diff? I think that maintaining everything in "Debian first" (or at least
keeping the diff as minimal as possible) would help bring slightly more
manpower to that area.
