encontrei este trecho no debian handbook:

APT defines several default priorities. Each installed package version
has a priority of 100. A non-installed version has a priority of 500
by default, but it can jump to 990 if it is part of the target release
(defined with the <literal>-t</literal> command-line option or the
<literal>APT::Target-Release</literal> configuration directive).

e gostaria de saber como traduzir o termo "target release".

Uso de tradutor automático

Bom dia a todos.

Não querendo ser chato mas já sendo. Sou novo na lista e não sei se isso já foi discutido aqui. Procurei
nos arquivos da lista e a única coisa que encontrei foi uma mensagem de 1999.

Tenho notado textos que foram traduzidos usando o tradutor do Google e similares. Não sou contra o uso
dessas ferramentas, até porque eu as utilizo. Mas algumas vezes a tradução não é das melhores, ainda
mais em nossa área que é repleta de jargões.

Acho válido usar essas ferramentas, mas podemos revisar a tradução antes de enviar. Já vi algumas
traduções que são cópias fiéis da saída do Google tradutor, com erros.

Dessa forma não estamos sendo eficientes, pois é necessário alterar o texto, reiniciando o processo de revisão.

glide 2002.04.10ds1-8: Please update debconf PO translation for the package glide

Hi,

You are noted as the last translator of the debconf translation for
glide. The English template has been changed, and now some messages
are marked "fuzzy" in your translation or are missing.
I would be grateful if you could take the time and update it.
Please send the updated file as a wishlist bug
against glide. NOT TO ME!

There is no deadline for this update as I'm sending this on behalf of
the package maintainer (who is also one of you guys...), who
apparently forgot to do so and owes me a beer, then...

como devemos traduzir "audio player"?

eu vejo duas possibilidades:
- reprodutor de áudio
- tocador de áudio

alguém tem mais alguma sugestão? será que conseguimos padronizar isto?
o que vocês sugerem/votam?

    Já tem uns 6 meses que tenho acompanhado o trabalho do time 
brasileiro no DDTSS. Nós estávamos em 8o (oitavo) e alguns dias atrás 
passamos o time ucraniano em 6o (sexto).

    Pelas interações no DDTSS, tem umas 5 pessoas revezando entre 
traduções e revisões. Parabéns à todos. :)

Hello dear i18n crowd,

If you followed the wheezy release cycle, you notice that, among many
other things, we had a hard "fight" to get 100% translation ratio for
several languages, when it comes at debconf templates.

Indeed, we managed to get this achieved for 8 languages : French,
Russian, German, Portuguese, Swedish, Czech, Spanish, Danish.

That requires following both the status of translation ratio in
testing AND the one in unstable, anticipating packages
transition...and tracking them, particularly during the freeze.

The best way to achieve this for a given language is tto try being as
close as possible of the 100% mark. Something anybody can follow from
there:

Still, monitoring the status of testing is also needed, both generally
for all languages (consider it my own job, with the great help of
David Prévot during wheezy release cycle) AND for each language (this
is the "job" of preferrably a language coordinator for each language).

I would like to make this as smooth as possible for jessie, from the
start.

So, first, I'd like to identify "candidates" for this. Of course, the
"Big 8" still qualify : I guess they'll all want to keep their 100%
mark, even if, for some of them, that basically relies on the effort
of ONE person.

Maybe a few other would like to try this. I'm mostly thinking about
languages that are "not too far" from 100% with a still active team:
Italian, Dutch, Japanese.

As a start, I can add them to the special testing tracking bot that
produces this:
