Italian translation of live-manual currently unmaintained

Hi,

(I am not subscribed to this list, so please CC me, thanks)

My name is Carlos Zuferri and I contribute to the Debian Live project
http://live.debian.net/ mainly translating documentation. The Debian
Live team keeps the biggest part of their documentation in a debian
package named live-manual. (I link to the online stable version of the
document, since it can also be read online, apart from installing it
on your system "apt-get install live-manual" or "aptitude install
live-manual" http://live.debian.net/manual/stable/ )

The wheezy version of the package was published in Catalan, French,
Italian and Spanish (and English, of course). But now, the Italian
translation is currently unmaintained. The jessie version of
live-manual will be released in Catalan, French, Japanese, Polish,
Spanish and hopefully into Italian, as long as someone could find the
time and the energy to finish the job. That is why I'm addressing your
list.

I know that you will all very likely be busy updating the translations
you usually work with and that translating manuals is not high
priority for releases, but it would be very nice to finish the Italian
translation because there is not too much work to do.

There are currently:

- 149 untranslated strings

[UPDATED] grub2 2.02~beta2-18: Please update debconf PO translation for the package grub2

Hi,

You are noted as the last translator of the debconf translation for
grub2.

Thank you to those of you who have already submitted translation updates.

It has been brought to my attention that the phrase "EFI removable path" in the
previous English version is confusing and wrong and should really be "EFI
removable media path". Therefore I am sending out an updated po file (see
attached) with this fixed.

I'm afraid this will have marked any existing translations as fuzzy.

Please send the updated file to me, or submit it as a wishlist bug against
grub2. If you have already translated this template and the above change does
not invalidate your translation then please let me know and I will un-fuzz it
for you.

At the same time some minor tweaks have been made to the English grammar. I
think these should not affect translations.

The complete wdiff for the English updates vs last time is:
--------8<------------------
Template: grub2/force_efi_extra_removable
Type: boolean
Default: false
_Description: Force extra installation to the EFI removable {+media+} path?
Some EFI-based systems are buggy and do not handle new bootloaders correctly.
If you force {+an+} extra installation of GRUB to the EFI removable {+media+} path, [-it-]

Ciao Giuliano ;)

inceppato)?

debian-reference: it translation

Hi,

I am expecting to upload a new upload of debian-reference soon.

There is one fuzzy left in italian since I made minor English
correction.

no-obsolete it 7628
untranslated it 0
fuzzy it 1

#. type: Content of: <book><chapter><section><section><para>
#, fuzzy
#| msgid ""

#| "is good for getting out of really bad situations and gaining an usable "
#| "keyboard access without stopping the system."
msgid ""
"The combination of \"Alt-SysRq s\", \"Alt-SysRq u\", and \"Alt-SysRq r\" is "
"good for getting out of really bad situations and gaining usable keyboard "
"access without stopping the system."
msgstr ""
"La combinazione di \"Alt-SysRq s\", \"Alt-SysRq u\" e \"Alt-SysRq r\" è "
"buona per uscire da situazioni veramente brutte e ottenere un accesso "
"utilizzabile alla tastiera senza fermare il sistema."

Should I do s/un accesso/accesso/ (like portugese) or nothing like french.

Let me know which is correct text to make this text non-fuzzy for
italian.

Thanks in advance. Ciao.

util-linux 2.25.2-3: Please update the PO translation for the package util-linux

Hi,

You are noted as the last translator of the translation for util-linux.
The English template has been changed, and now some messages are marked
"fuzzy" in your translation or are missing (there has been two minor
changes since 2.25.1 available via the translation project).
I would be grateful if you could take the time and update it.
Please send the updated file to me, to the translation project
<http://translationproject.org/domain/util-linux.html> or submit
it as a wishlist Debian bug against util-linux.

I’ve added the Debian localisation list in the loop order to increase
the chances to ship up to date translations of util-linux in the
upcoming Debian stable (Jessie), but please note this is an upstream
translation and that usual upstream translator (team) may have a
different workflow.

Please, try to coordinate between teams to avoid duplicate work and
stepping on toes, and do not hesitate to confirm (to me) that you’re
working on the file. Likewise, do not hesitate to contact me if
you’re not sure if the file is free (i.e. if someone else is working
on it).

The deadline for receiving the updated translation is
Tue, 02 Dec 2014 09:00:08 -0400.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

David

R: Re: [DONE] wml://News/weekly/2014/15/index.wml

Ciao ;)

>Sono curiosa... la validazione come è andata? era OK la traduzione o hai
>dovuto mettere mano ai tag, ecc.?

No no, i file wml era tutto ok.
Quello che ho dovuto fare è stato un diff tra la "nostra" versione di partenza
in inglese e quella effettivamente pubblicata.
Sono stati cambiati degli indirizzi da "http" a "https", il numero di bug
critici e poco altro.

>Si potrebbere ripetere l'esperienza per la prossima DPN. :)

Molto volentieri!

Sono perfettamente d'accordo ;)

P.S. Forse una cosa che migliorerei, è il fatto che durante la revisione avevo
difficoltà a capire chi lavorasse su cosa; potremmo pensare di fare in modo che
ognuno copi in titanpan il pezzo che vuole revisionare, in modo che venga
colorato in modo differente.

A presto.

gnupg2: Please update the PO translation for the package gnupg2

(GnuPG in STABLE-BRANCH-2-0).

The English template has been changed, and now some messages

That’s short, but we’re in freeze, sorry about it (do not hesitate
to provide a partial update in time, and a complete one latter, to
make sure some improvement will be included in Debian, and all of
them upstream when ready).

Thanks in advance, regards.

David

P.-S.: Other calls will follow for libgpg-error, and the latest gnupg2 2.1
currently in experimental (GnuPG in master).
