Bug#451791: No problems here

I have 965 board and card

absinthe <at> havoc:~$ lspci | grep -i "vga"
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile
GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c)

I never had problems with font rendering, right now I'm using
"xserver-xorg-video-intel (2:2.3.2-2+lenny5)" and I've been using the
"default" driver that came in Lenny ever since I got this notebook.
Only problems I got is when I tried setting up compiz, it was too
slow, from scrolling to anything else really.

After a lots of reading even though EXA should be the next (replace)
XAA, I switched from EXA to XAA. And viola everything worked fine, no
slow compiz or anything. But there was one major flaw, you couldn't
watch videos, so it was either compiz or videos. However 965 was in
compiz blacklist because at the time it could not play videos with XV.
Bug fix was announced in September-October, fix for the same driver
came and now you can enjoy videos on compiz using XV.

But due to compiz problems which I'll report in some other bug reports
I stopped using it, but even without compiz enabled XAA behaves
ideally.

For those with font rendering problems I suggest they install
"ttf-bitstream-vera" (not sure how that will help but still) and
switch to XAA and set your driver to "intel" if you haven't done so,
and all your problems should be solved.

Some of these may be obsolete but this is how my Device section looks

Bug#491871: Switch to XAA

Everything pretty much the same here too, my life become much happier
once I switched to XAA. As I see it right now you only have
"Option "RenderAccel" "on"

Take a look at mine Device section in xorg.conf, and pick ones you
might need. I'm sure this will solve your problem

Section "Device"
        Identifier "Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960

Bug#492404: (no subject)

Hi

I feel sorry for not having answered for so long time.
I did a fresh install with Weekly XFCE CD from october 6th. openchrome drivers were loaded - at least from the
point of

grep openchrome /var/log/Xorg.0.log

hermes:/etc/apt# grep openchrome /var/log/Xorg.0.log
(II) Matched openchrome from file name openchrome.ids in autoconfig
(==) Matched openchrome for the autoconfigured driver
(II) LoadModule: "openchrome"
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//openchrome_drv.so
(II) Module openchrome: vendor="http://openchrome.org/"
(!!) For support, please refer to http://openchrome.org/.

Setting resolution works flawlessly now. By using glxgears it got 98% cpu usage - which is about the same as
when using vesa. While I'm disappointed about this (i got higher framerate and way less cpu usage by
comilling on my own) you can consider the bug "fixed", as my main problem is solved.

If I can contribute anything by testing, mail me. Thank you very much for your packaging work!

Mathieu

Bug#503442: compiz: Already Set Shortcuts stop to work too!

Package: compiz
Version: 0.7.6-7
Followup-For: Bug #503442

Not only are you not able to add shortcuts but already selected shortcuts cease to work! In my case, I had the
right windows key (super user key) as my terminal launcher and it no longer works
whenever I have compiz running! Each time I have compiz running, I must click my way to the terminal which
gets annoying since I tend to use the terminal a lot.

Bug#504261: compiz: "Show Desktop" icon takes long to restore windows when Compiz is running!

Package: compiz
Version: 0.7.6-7
Severity: normal

Clicking the Gnome "show desktop" icon, shows the desktop at normal speed but clicking that same icon to
restore windows takes particularly longer with compiz running! I haven't experienced this
problem in Ubuntu and I have the same hardware as I did when I used Ubuntu except that now I have a faster CPU and
more RAM (Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2180) and my video card is: ATI Radeon X600 Pro.

Bug#496315: Intel X4500 HD

xserver-xorg-video-intel-2.4 adds support for Intel X4500 graphics card,
so it would be very nice to include it in Lenny, because a lot of
laptops now include that card. Thanks
