Bug#341536: xnest does not propagate window manager events

Package: xnest
Version: 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11

(My environment: sid/unstable
xserver-xorg: 6.8.2.dfsg.1-10
kdelibs: 4:3.4.3-2
)

When I start a window manager inside Xnest, changes to windows
(raise/iconify/deiconify/resize) are not properly propagated (if at all).
The window itself behaves as if the event was handled through.

Steps to reproduce the problem: I used icewm inside a kde session. I had
similar behaviour with "inner" window managers kde or twm, and without an
"outer" window manager (plain X)

Steps to start a the window manager (as display ":3"):

  xterm #1:
  > xauth add $HOSTNAME/unix:3 . $(mcookie)
  > Xnest :3 -geometry 800x600

  xterm #2:
  > export DISPLAY=:3
  > icewm

Inside icmwm:

* Open two xterms

libxrender1 has still a Depends on | xlibs (>> 4.1.0)

Hello X Strike Force,

I see you have removed most of the obsolete "| xlibs (>> 4.1.0)"
depdendencies.

There is just one remaining:
Package: libxrender1
Depends: libc6 (>= 2.3.2.ds1-21), libx11-6 | xlibs (>> 4.1.0)

I suppose it should be removed for consistency.

Cheers,

This looks like a problem in your /dev directory. Do you have a
/dev/input/mice file? Is it readable? Have you installed something like
udev or devfs?

	In fact this xlibs dependency is brought by libx11-dev. I mean, libxrender is
a separate package that has not been recompiled after the "| xlibs (>>
4.1.0)" removal, so it will vanish in the next libxrender release.

	Thank you anyway for your report. Best regards,

		Ender.

Yes, or the error would be 'No such file or directory'.

> Is it readable?

Yes, or the error would be 'Permission denied'.

This isn't Windows or something. ;)

Julien Cristau already closed this bug with a pretty good explanation I
think.

Argh. I hope that this doesn't get propagated to all of debian-x. Please
gzip or bzip2 logs next time. Only i am really interested in these logs
and i'm perfectly capable of using gzip or bzip2.

This is not an X log. With X log i mean /var/log/Xorg.0.log

This is also not from a run with xf86-video-unichrome. The fb memory
handling has been completely reworked. Please check if you
built/installed the xf86-video-unichrome driver correctly.

Bug#341641: /usr/X11R6/bin/xman: mouse wheel

Package: xbase-clients
Version: 6.8.2.dfsg.1-9
Severity: wishlist
File: /usr/X11R6/bin/xman

I notice the mouse wheel has no affect, at least when inside the
"sections" list.
