I was an idiot -- the bug was not closed, it was simply marked Done;
which meant I could have simply followed up on the BTS.

The problem is fixed. It was more idiocy on my part regarding
XF86Config; there was another VideoRAM setting that snuck in there somehow.

No more replies here from me; I cc'd the bug.

Bug#199675: Can desktop utilities be split off xbase-clients package?

Package: xbase-clients
Version: 4.x
Severity: wishlist

I am wondering if the desktop utilities like xcalc, xeyes, etc. can be
split off from xbase-clients so that people using alternatives don't
have to have them installed when they are not needed? Possibly call it
xbase-clients-utils or something. Keeping xbase-utils for startx, and
all the things used by other packages (as opposed to by end users) in
xbase-clients.

mouse cursor offset error on unstable

Hi

I am not sure what event casuses this but very frequently
after running X for some time, my mouse cursor becomes
offset. It points about 1cm to the right of where it actually is.

Any idea how to fix this?

Thanx

Bug#199715: (no subject)

Subject: xdm crashes system on IA64
Package: xdm
Version: 4.1.0-16
Severity: grave
Tags: woody

I did a base install on a HP zx2000 with the addition of X11 only. Each
time xdm starts the box crashes. I did not see this issue filed in the
database. I believe this is an issue with using /dev/mem, rather then
/dev/urandom, to seed the random number generator. It appears to be
fixed in SID.

Option "SWCursor"

should work around it.

This is in the works for the 4.3.0 series of packages, as a consequence
of "the big xlibs split".

This is often a driver bug with hardware cursor support. I would
experiment with

	Option "SWCursor" "on"

in the "Device" section of your XF86Config-4.

Also, please read the rest of this message.
