security.debian.org down ?

Sorry, I'm not sure which is the right list ...

Aptitude got stuck timing out on security.debian.org, so I asked
<quote src="terminal">

eddy <at> whorl:eddy$ ping security.debian.org
PING security.debian.org ( 56 data bytes

--- security.debian.org ping statistics ---
155 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss

</quote> and the news appears to be bad.

Bug#230773: packages.debian.org: a package page not found

Package: www.debian.org

`tripwire' package page on packages.debian.org can be found using the search but is in fact missing.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

1. Go to http://packages.debian.org/ (it redirects to http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages ).

2. Scroll to the "Search package directories" section. Enter "tripwire" in the keyword field, set
"Distribution" to "any" and submit the query with the "Search" button.

3. This will show the page http://packages.debian.org/cgi-bin/search_packages.pl?keywords=tripwire&searchon=names&subword=1&case=insensitive&version=all&release=all
which lists one entry for the package Tripwire in unstable, and the link points to
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/non-US/tripwire .

4. Now follow the link: the page http://packages.debian.org/unstable/non-US/tripwire is 404 Not Found.

I don't know if there are any other packages whose pages are missing. I guess that it being in non-US may be
related. Or is it just an old index which is used for search?

Could some please send a small notice to the -news list and set a small
note to www.d.o/security/ ?

In the last 24 hours I heard complains in different irc channels in
different networks, in mail in different Debian Lists and List of
different Linux User Groups and I got Mails from people I once met on a
conference or trade show.

Even a small "Sever is down, we are working on it, will be up soon"
would do it.

Perhaps you could even mention, that some Debian mirrors, mirror
security, too.

Yours sincerely,
