Yeah, thanks for the report. Things like this are expected.
It might be wise to do it more in a proper way:
- get the Contents file from a Debinan mirror
- check all files in all the TL packages *outside* /usr/share/texlive
against the files in the Debian Contents file
(probably only the usr/bin files have to be checked)

Best wishes

Exploring the possibility of an l10n upload of tex-common to fix pending po-debconf l10n bugs

Dear Debian maintainer,

("oh no, not him again"...)

The tex-common Debian package, which you are the maintainer of, has
pending bug report(s) which include translation updates or fixes
for po-debconf, namely bug number 652627 (and maybe other similar bugs).

So, sorry for this, but the radar beeped at your package and here am I
with what I usually call an "NMU intent"...:-). Please take this as a "very
soft" NMU intent. Of course, there is no hurry or deadline...just
"old" bugs we think are easy to get rid of.

In case you can't update your package, I hereby propose, as part
of a more general action of the Debian i18n Task Force to build and
possibly upload a non-maintainer upload for tex-common in order to fix
this as well as all pending translations for the debconf templates.

Of course, as you're probably pretty active on that package, an upload
by you would also be OK...as long as it allows a round of translation
updates.

Such changes are always harmless, which explains why I safely consider
building NMUs for such issues even though they're obviously non critical.

The schedule for the NMU (in case it happens, that is if you agree with it
or if I don't receive any answer in 4 days) is roughly the following:

Thursday, March 01, 2012 : send this notice
Monday, March 05, 2012 : post a NMU announcement to debian-i18n with you

Ah, sorry, I noticed the error. There are no binaries for i386 there,
and therefore aptitude first wants to do nothing, and as the second
choice tries installing texlive-base 2012 along with texlive-binaries
2009...

One the one hand, I fear that things might break (where "things" are
most problably other TeX-related packages). On the other hand

Just wait until the package migrates to testing.

Re: TL2012 status 2012-03-01

Hi,

i386-packages of texlive_bin 2011.20120226-1~3 are currently uploaded to

http://people.debian.org/~frank/texlive2009/dists/experimental/main/binary-i386/

althouth this is apt-get'able, I'd prefer that Norbert copy the files to
his repository.

BTW, it's on purpose that texlive-bin is a native package?

Regards, Frank

Bug#612924: [stable] Possible fix for possible RC bug

Dear (stable) Release Managers,

nearly a year ago I asked about an update to stable, as copied below.
We never received an answer and forgot about it ourselves. However, we
do keep getting bug reports about that issue.

I'd be grateful if someone gave us a heads up: Should we prepare an
upload with the line commented?

Regards, Frank

Thanks for building, see other email.

What for example? Which other package is tinkering with texmf.cnf?
ANd anyway, *most* packages have to be rebuild anyway for the new
updmap.cfg handling in dh_installtex.

Honestly, sometimes one has to break with that. ANd we are not the only
ones. I have often seen local config files changed and everything
dropped. Giving a warning is enough for my taste.

Thanks, copied, integrated into my repository, uplaoded. You can
delete these files again.

> BTW, it's on purpose that texlive-bin is a native package?

?? What do you mean? texlive-bin is *not* a native package ...
	2011.20120226-1~3
has a -XXX part, so it is a debian package, and there is also
	TeX/tl2012-pre/texlive-bin_2011.20120226-1~3.debian.tar.gz
?

Best wishes
