Re: TL 2009: Upgrade works! Future plans?

Hi all,

thanks for your great work!

Now I'd like to know if texworks is included in TL 2009
packages or not.

I intended to package texworks but, unfortunately or fortunately,
my first attempt was rejected. Then I noticed that texworks
seems to be included in TL 2009 so it is my concern if it
is really happen or not.

Saturday, October 3rd, about 10:00 CEST, that's 8:00 UTC or 15 in GMT+7
would be best for me. I'll have about 2 hours time, after that I
probably should care again for my hungry family...

Bug#548896: [tex-live] Bug#548896: Please rename the texlive binary package to texlive-medium/minimal/whatever

As Karl already objected, the "standard" or "typical" installation, as far as
the TL team is concerned, is a *full* installation. The problem with the current
name "texlive" is precisely that people could think it is the standard, so
"texlive-standard" would be even wors IMHO.

I like the texlive-basic proposal by Ulrike, which is quite clear.

Manuel.

Hm, strange. There's a texworks directory in Master/tlpkg/, it contains
a windows binary, some dll's and data. But there don't seem to be
sources in Build/.

I just found on the pretest information page in the section about
changes in TL 2009:

- The TeXworks front end is included on Windows. It will also be
included in MacTeX. We hope to offer it for separate download on other
  platforms.

This means it seems it is *not* included in Unix builds; I have no idea
where the sources have gone.

Bug#547978: lmodern doesn't fix

In case it helps the next guy, a workaround, suggested by the author of
the envlab package:

For each problem character, place a line like this in the preamble:

    \PrerenderUnicode{\"o}

and enclose each such character in {} where it is used in the body of
the document:

    Gr{\"o}nstr

We successfully used the actual unicode character, rather than a the \"o
construct, in both places.

Orphaned feynmf

Hi TeX folks,

FYI I have orphaned feynmf (bug #549245) due to lack of time to
maintain my packages. Probably it would make the most sense for it to
be re-integrated into TeXLive packages, assuming you have the time.
Note there are some Debian-specific changes in the package, including
a patch for CVE 2007-5940 in one of the included scripts.

best regards,

So I need to continue my packaging of texworks.

Thanks for your clarifications.

Yes but I am not on GMT+7, but CEST+7 = GMT+9 which is 17.

Can we make it later? There is a festival in the nearby village I want
to go to.

Best would be
	JST 22:00 = CEST 15:00 = GMT 13:00
I should be back by then.

If you prefer the early morning please go ahead and I will try to finish
up the stuff and upload it. Send me some emails what has to be done.

Would be nice to see one or the other around in #debian-tex, too.

Best wishes

Norbert
