«yhmath» package problems with fonts

-Package: texlive-math-extra
-Version: 2007-3
-Severity: normal
-system: Debian unstable

The package «texlive-math-extra» installs «yhmath».

If you declare

\usepackage{yhmath}

in a tex document the command «\wideparen» is
usefull but «\widehat» is redefined and then missed; that
is, the big "hat" that «\widehat» may produce, disappears in
formulae like, for example:

$f: \widehat{X}\to \wideparen{X}$

Also disappear the symbol produced by the command
«\prod» in formulae like, for example:

$X \subset\prod_{n\geq 0}X_n$

If you use the lines

\DeclareSymbolFont{fuenteyh}{OMX}{yhex}{m}{n}
\DeclareMathAccent{\wideparen}{\mathord}{fuenteyh}{"F3}

instead

Bug#375922: running mktexlsr/updmap/fmtutil at the end of a dpkg run (was: texlive-*)

Waiting in the background until dpkg.lock is removed might indeed be an
alternative. To make sure dpkg knows that configuring failed, one could
call "dpkg-reconfigure $known-to-fail-package".

Not that I think we will have time to implement this soon, but if
someone else wants to implement a patch... I'm forwarding this to the
bug, just in case.

Or simpler still, something like: fgrep $(echo -e "$file \n$file\t")
(I haven't checked the quoting, sorry.)

The obvious solution would be to move both to
texlive-latex-obsoleteDONOTUSE.

Bug#427032: texlive-latex-base: No graphics driver defined.

Package: texlive-latex-base
Version: 2007-8
Severity: normal

After installing the updated package, latex'ing a document that uses the graphics package results in a
complaint that there is no default driver. This can be fixed by creating
/etc/texmf/tex/latex/config/graphics.cfg with the line: \ExecuteOptions{pdftex} There are other
config files missing from the same directory. Only hyperref.cfg is left. Other files get created during
the package install but then are removed before the install completes.

-- Package-specific info:
If you report an error when running one of the TeX-related binaries
(latex, pdftex, metafont,...), or if the bug is related to bad or wrong
output, please include a MINIMAL example input file that produces the
error in your report. Don't forget to also include minimal examples of
other files that are needed, e.g. bibtex databases. Often it also helps
to include the logfile. Please, never send included pictures!

If your example file isn't short or produces more than one page of
output (except when multiple pages are needed to show the problem),
you can probably minimize it further. Instructions on how to do that
can be found at

That's a result of bug #420390, see also #425781 and the bugs it is
merged with.

To make the postinst scripts work again, we have forcibly resurrected
modes.mf and pdftexconfig.tex.  I wasn't aware that graphics.cfg is
mandatory, too, and there might be others.

I think we should reintroduce graphics.cfg, too, but I'm unsure about
the rest.
