Re: [DRAFT for REVIEW] Debian Lenny is coming: target release date

That's good news Andre!

Done. The most important edit was the one made to the first paragraph.

You could always do a heavier edit on this paragraph, as follows:

Following the plan outlined in the previous release update, with the Debian Installer RC2 announcement we are now in deep freeze. We will only be migrating to testing those packages which fix RC bugs.

All the best,

Jon

[PARTNERS] hppa / s390 porter boxes available

Hello,
Do we have a worthwhile story/announcement here [0] to be written?
At least, the ZIVIT deserves some message at Partners page[1], imho.
Regards.

What would be the story? "Debian gets more hardware" doesn't sound
particularly newsworthy IMO.

Partners program is for ongoing support of Debian, whereas this seems
to have been a one-off donation?

This would be the right place for such one-off donations:

"Debian gets another server running on real big iron" is, IMO. That server is
one out of 200 on that particular machine, afaik. Thats quite impressive.

ATLAS debian cluster

Hello, Dr. Allen
Congratulations for another [0] press coverage about the ATLAS debian
cluster [1].
Please, at next interviews, we ask you to include a small citation
about running on Debian GNU / Linux.
As Debian Project is a not-for-profit organization, these small citations
could help
the Project and its users in the long term.
Regards.

People don't need to cite Debian. It's great if they do, but there's
no requirement. It's also not the case that someone being interviewed
has a great deal of control over what the reporter actually reports;
since the reporter never mentioned the underlying operating system in
the article, it's quite possible that it was mentioned during the
interview, and not properly reported.

We should be happy when people do cite Debian, but we don't need to
concern ourselves with when it doesn't happen.

Finally, it's not good form to mail someone like this as if you were
acting on behalf of the project when you're not. [Even our DPL has to
be careful when acting on behalf of the project.]

The attackers hadn't simply robbed the bank. They had carried off
everything portable, including the security cameras, the carpets, the
chairs, and the light and plumbing fixtures. The conspirators had
deliberately punished the bank, for reasons best known to themselves,
or to their unknown controllers. They had superglued doors and
shattered windows, severed power and communications cables, poured
stinking toxins into the wallspaces, and concreted all of the sinks
and drains. In eight minutes, sixty people had ruined the building so
thoroughly that it had to be condemned and later demolished.

Hi Andre,
