Bug#648052: Bug to be closed?

Dear Maintainer,

from my point of view this bug may be closed.

I changed my button layout definition from "close, minimize, maximize" to
"close, minimize, maximize:". This solved the issue for me.

Regards,
Sven

Bug#563943: evince: fails to properly render some documents

Package: evince
Version: 3.4.0-2
Followup-For: Bug #563943

Dear Maintainer,

Noticed this also happening. Until the recent update to the versions
bellow it was working fine and i never noticed that (let me know if
knowing the previous version is of help, i can hunt down how to get
that information from some apt-get log), but it may be that i just never
opened the offending files for a while.

one very common file that never gave me problem is the notorious MIT
guide to lock picking.

you can easily search for it online,
"mitlg-a4.pdf" as it's mirrored everywhere.

the md5sum is 5890ad5ed694b9ad85b689221a2fc263

The file renders with a bunch of "___" where words should be. but they
are not exactly "_" as the character would be if properly rendered. it's
a bunch of noise from the original letter, reduced to what looks like
"_". You can almost tell the correct layout of the text, but can't read
a single letter.

Also, changing pages with files that trigger this bug, will make evince
hang there for some time on page 3 or 4. but this is not 100%. and i
didn't notice this delay ever with the OK files.

Of note, the file mentioned in message #15 renders like that to me too.

Further investigaton, revelead this pattern:
mitlg-a4.pfg - PDF version 1.2 - fail
CoplanarPts.pdf - PDF version 1.2 - fail
other 3 files - PDF version 1.5 - OK
other 2 files - PDF version 1.3 - OK

Bug#674497: after searching in gnome-shell overview gjs-console is consuming 100% CPU

Package: gjs
Version: 1.32.0-2
Severity: normal

Hi,

every time I type anything in the gnome-shell overview, it searches
for applications/whatever. That is by design.

But when I leave the search and the overview, still gjs-console continues
to consume 100% of CPU for extended time, sometimes up to 30 secs.
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
 7223 norbert 20 0 394m 22m 14m S 99.4 0.6 0:42.21 gjs-console

Is there a reason why this is not handled in a different way?
Is there a way to configure or debug gjs?

Thanks

Norbert

Bug#542361: this is still a big problem

affects 542361 okular
thanks

Can I get some update on what's going on with this bug? I *just*
encountered this and now I can't use okular at all. It just hangs
waiting for some /tmp/fam- socket that doesn't exist:

servo:~ 0$ strace okular
...
getuid()				= 1000
open("/etc/passwd", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC)	= 9
lseek(9, 0, SEEK_CUR) = 0
fstat(9, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=2065, ...}) = 0
mmap(NULL, 2065, PROT_READ, MAP_SHARED, 9, 0) = 0x7fcec56c3000
lseek(9, 2065, SEEK_SET) = 2065
munmap(0x7fcec56c3000, 2065) = 0
close(9) = 0
socket(PF_FILE, SOCK_STREAM, 0) = 9
connect(9, {sa_family=AF_FILE, path=@"/tmp/fam-jrollins-"}, 110

What is going on here? What is causing this? How do I fix it? How is
it possible that I'm just now getting hit with a bug that was first
reported in 2009? Nothing on my system has changed since okular was
working yesterday. Very confused.

jamie.
