I think that change is ok.

BTW exim4/use_split_config should be low, IMHO.

At first glance I'd guess we should not ask dc_hide_mailname for
satellite setups.

Installed debconf version is broken. Aborting preconfigure.

I just did a dist-upgrade on Woody (using backports.org) and noticed
this:

   Installed debconf version is broken. Aborting preconfigure.

I did a google search on that string and found an unanswered post[1]
by me asking about that message.  (That seems to happen often to me.)

Is that related to the exim4 packages?  Or is that some other problem?
I have not noticed that when updating other woody machines running
the exim4 backports, but it could be easy to miss.

The exim4 packages use a feature of debconf that is broken in the
woody version. Hence, the packages detect if running on woody and
refrain from using that feature. The questions are then asked at a
later stage of setup.

It is an informational message only and no need to be alarmed.

The complete changelog message looks like this:
   * Exim4 triggers a bug in woody's debconf. - With dialog frontend, invoked   
     by dpkg-preconfigure you are stuck in a loop, always being asked the same  
     two questions (split config, and basic configtype) again and again until   
     you give up and choose split_config=yes although being discouraged from    
     doing so. I am working around this by making the config-script abort if    
     debconf is old and we are running in preconfigure mode. (Thanks to Dan     
     Weber, Adrian Bunk and whoever else wasted brainpower on this.)

Small typo in changelog

Hi,

[I did reply to the PTS commit message a while ago to point this out, but
I'm not sure if zugschlus <at> costa.d.o actually goes anywhere that's read. :-)]

The commit in question was r1120, and contains a small typo, which afaics is
still present (as of r1136):

 * Translation updates:
    - cy (Welch) by Dafydd Harries. (mh) (Closes: #306349)

It was delivered locally on costa, which I didn't notice. There exists
a .forward now.
