RE : [PROVENANCE INTERNET] RE : ubuntu-1204-x86_64 build successfull.

Fixed,

It should still build, but now, the result should go into PKGDEST (/tftpboot/....) instead of staying in /tmp/scdeb/ ...

Olivier.

That's what I thought, the package builds, but is generated in /tmp/scdeb/systemconfigurator_2.2.11-1_all.deb

Fixing this......

Yes, this time, systemimager was built. Great.

It seems that the lazy error checking process (e.g., die when it does not know what to do in oscar-packager) caused this problem.

Anyway, I could not still build systemconfigurator with oscar-packager. I built it manually put it on the repository.

Were you able to build systemconfigurator with oscar-packager, Olivier?

Not in order to build, you must update oscar-packager to latest svn version. (copying svn/pkgsrc/oscar-packager/trunk/bin/oscar-packager to /usr/bin/oscar-packager is sufficient.

RE : [PROVENANCE INTERNET] RE : [PROVENANCE INTERNET] RE : sync-files and oscar-utils (systemimager)

System imager build, but oscar-packager reports a failed state because it tries to build flamethrower and
other stuffs that are available on debian outside oscar. build.cfg seems to behave like if it does match
block [debian:5|6:*] AND block [*:*:*]

I'll check that behaviour tomorrow.

Regards,

Olivier.

PS: dongInn, do you want me to sync my ubuntu-1204-x86_64 repo?

DEB bootstrapping... (small issue)

Hi,

I've discovered, that using oscar-packager without having installed oscar at all (and thus without having set up the distro (thus /tftpboot/oscar/debian-#-arch.url, it works not that bad.

In fact, no missing dependancies at all, and not crash due to the fact that oscar is not initialized. The only issue is that packman is using an almost empty url file (/tftpboot/oscar/debian-6-x86_64.url) that is initialized by packman with only the local repo file:/tftpboot/...

The "small" problem is that it's missleading as packman says that for example dblatex is not available (which is missleading as it is available, except that the distro repo is ignored).

Solutions are:

- make a requirement on oscar-config and check that oscar-config--setup-distro was run at least once.
- removes distros url from supported_distros.txt and have oscar-config --setup-distro read them from the system (/etc/apt/*). (less bugs IMHO and more concistant with system). => need to check impact of such a behaviour.

Note that is packman is run with an incomplete /tftpboot/oscar/*url file, subsequent calls from apt-get install will fail until apt-get update is run.....

This is not a big issue, but it should be at least put in the doc of oscar-packager IMHO.

The ideal solution would be to have the distro repo setup from the system instead of supported_distros.txt, but this may require many changes, and before doing so, the pro and cons must be carefully studied...

Olivier.

OSCAR build ubuntu-12.04 fixes

Hi,

- I've fixed oscar-packager for deb side. Now it is copied to the repo after being built (usefull ;-) ) and there is a correct error message if it doesn't know how to build a package.(this is svn commit #10000)

-  I've also fixed deb side dependancies (added packman and opkgc).

Still fixing build issues one by one......

Olivier.

ganglia on FC-18

Hi,

FC-18 provides ganglia packages (ganglia, ganglia-gmetad, and ganglia-web) with the latest version and
these packages make conflicts with the OSCAR ganglia package.
If we provide some particular configuration for ganglia in OSCAR, we have to keep hosting the ganglia
packages on our official repository but we have to rename the package with like "ganglia-gmetd-oscar",
"ganglia-web-oscar", and so on.

Otherwise, we may need to drop ganglia on FC-18.

What do you think about renaming the ganglia packages?

Regards,

Re: sync-files and oscar-utils

BTW, Olivier.

What about systemimager? I can not bootstrap because of the sis package. I thought you were working on
building the sis package and it seems to be already available on ubuntu-1210-x86_64 repository but not in 1204.

Do we need to do some manual work to build systemimager on ubuntu-1204?

"oscar-packager --all sis" did not build systemimager.

I though I did modify this by putting a requirement on v6.1.1.9 (trick), but it seems I missed this package...

Fixed in SVN.

Olivier.

It seems that the dependency of sync-files to oscar-utils is not setup properly.

loghost: deprecated

Hi,

I'm looking into loghost and I've discovered that it's completely useless and obsolete for distro rhel6+, fc17+ (at least), debian-6+ (at least) and ubuntu-12.04+ (at least).

The loghost package was only supported on rpm side, and I've updated the svn so it will only build for those platforms. build ing it on other platforms is harmless and it creates /etc/sysconfig/syslog while system uses  /etc/sysconfig/rsyslog.

Though, the opkg-loghost would be usefull, but needs partial rewrite to take into account the fact that the daemon is not sysklogd or syslogd, but rsyslogd.

Olivier.
