Re: flash rom utility

Check out the flash_rom utility included in the
freebios2/util/flash_and_burn directory.

Which flash part are you using?

Etherboot and Linuxbios

Etherboot version used: 5.3.11

I am trying to build a Etherboot image to work with Linuxbios but got a
compile error. There are couple undefined references to some functions
due to the settings in the Config file.

I commented out the PCBIOS option, and define the following.

-DLINUXBIOS -DCONFIG_TSC_CURRTICKS -DCONSOLE_SERIAL -DCOMCONSOLE=0x3f8
-DCOMPRESERVE -DCONFIG_PCI_DIRECT -DELF_IMAGE

-DPXE_IMAGE -DPXE_EXPORT

p.s The undefined reference is due to the undefined PCBIOS.

Try 5.2.6 at first.

Attic gone?

Hi,

I want to look at some old files I checked into LinuxBIOS CVS a looong
time ago, implementing LDTSTOP_L. But SF's ViewCVS does not show the
Attic anymore.. is there a trick to get them?

mptable.c

Hi,

I've dumped an mptable with the mptable utility of LinuxBIOS v2.

I'm getting this at some point:

It seems it's also impossible to check out the old files with
    cvs co -D "2003-07-30 20:00" freebios2

About mpc8540 problem

Hi, I'm porting the u-boot to the MPC8540SK board. And Now
I get a problem.
When I run to the "printf" function, unexpected interruption
occurs. Then I trace into the assemble file. I found that something
wrong with the function "va_start","va_end". I know that these defines
may be include by the stdarg.h file. But in the u-boot file tree, I
can not find this file. Does u-boot use the file of my host system?
I don't know how to solve this problem.
Any comment and suggestion will be welcome!
thank you!

Etherboot and Linuxbios

Now my linuxbios found the ELF file created by Etherboot and tried to
jump to it. But it hangs afterward.

This is the debug output from linuxbios. It loads 2 seg from the ELF
file. But in a objdump on the ELF file. There is only one seg and the
loading addr is different.

oh boy. It's been a year at least since I even looked at that thing.

I will try to see what it's trying to do but I can't really tell why it is
doing this.

That type of thing was supposed to only come out between /* */

I can have a look, if you can point me to some documentation. Is the
utility supposed to through out a working mptable? The code it creates
looks fundamentally different from the opteron boards' mptables.c
versions.

> That type of thing was supposed to only come out between /* */
It doesn't, instead it comes right after all the smp_write_intsrc()
calls:

        smp_write_intsrc(mc, mp_NMI, MP_IRQ_TRIGGER_EDGE|MP_IRQ_POLARITY_HIGH, 0x0, 0x0, MP_APIC_ALL, 0x1);
MP Config Extended Table Entries:

Especially the bus hierarchy information might be interesting to linux?

I'll strip the comments out and see whether things work
