Summary: nforce4 - optical spdif out not working
Description:
A 48K PCM optical signal is getting sent out to my receiver, however I
can't get anything to play. I saw in the "intel8x0.c" that there is no
NFORCE4 callouts. Does the code fully support the nforce4 yet?

Re: ALSA Plugin for XMMS2. Help wanted.

Some further remarks:

In the call to xmms_plugin_new, the string literal in the last
parameter includes several tab characters from the beginning of the
second line.

xmms_alsa_probe_modes should check the return value of snd_pcm_open,
and use SND_PCM_NONBLOCK, too.

xmms_alsa_buffer_bytes_get should check for return values other than
-EPIPE.

Hi James,

thanks for the work, I'm looking forward to exploiting one
such card. However, the comments in ca0106_main.c confused
me somewhat. Let me quote:

,----
| Notes on how to capture sound:
| The AC97 is used in the PLAYBACK direction.
|
| The output from the AC97 chip, instead of reaching the
| speakers, is fed into the Philips 1361T ADC.
|
| So, to record from the MIC, set the MIC Playback volume to
| max, unmute the MIC and turn up the MASTER Playback
| volume.
|
| So, to prevent feedback when capturing, minimise the
| "Capture feedback into Playback" volume.
'----
