MuseScore

Hi,

I wonder whether you (who?) couldn't include MuseScore to the demudi
distribution?

The facts: I was looking for mscore package in debinan repositorys -->
does not exist. Sources only via sourceforge. Ok, I would try to built
my own package ( would be the first time that I am building a package)
But then the README file says that I need to install qt4.x.y. There are
no *.deb_s, too. And it seems really hard for me to install qtxy from
sources.

So, if someone here has done all this work, could he/she give me some hints?

But it would be much better, if someone (whoever this is within demudi)
could make and include a mscore (MuseScore) package to the demudi
distribution an add it to the repository.

Greetings

I successfully built and installed MuseScore on Demudi 1.3. I reviewed
the software for my Linux Journal On-line column as a part of a lengthy
profile of music notation software for Linux.

It's an ambitious project, i.e., it aims to be *the* WYSIWYG notation
for Linux. Unfortunately it's unstable and far from complete at this
time, and I'm not sure how closely Werner maintains it (I got zero
response from readers regarding my review of it).

You can get everything you need from the Debian repositories. IIRC the
build wasn't especially difficult, but be forewarned that Debian treats

:( How frustrating. I sympathise, having been there many times myself.

Hmm, that's odd. I know about the fonts problem, but nothing in testing should
be that badly broken. It would have been useful to know the exact error with
X for future reference. Bit late now.

Can't get demudi to load from CD

Can anyone help me? I've got demudi on live CD, and when I boot up using
defaults, it goes through hardware detection, DHCP set up etc, and gets as
far as "storing languages" with a progress bar at 27% and refuses to go any
further. I've got a pentium 4 on Asus P4T-F motherboard with 256mb ram, so
it should work. I've tried dozens of other linux distros with no problem.

Hope someone can help me with this. I am a musician and have tried musix
linux and studio to go, and would like to check out demudi.

Maybe, but it has its own rewards. Asking questions is good, the better the
question, the better the answer and we all get to learn something. :)

DeMuDi is simply a custom way of installing Debian with ootb multimedia
configuration. If it's not in Debian, it won't get into DeMuDi (apart from a
few exceptions). The reasons you have given above probably explain why no-one
else has packaged it. Your methods are probably as good as anyone else's.

Sorry, not to be able to offer any more help than that.

Hum... I got the same problem. Booting without the network card worked
on my computer. I don't know why...
Maybe you should try that ?

I don't remember having to do anything other than put an entry into /etc/fstab
to get it working, so I guess it is. Check the config in /boot/ to be sure.

tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
works well enough here.

Yup, probably.

next time when working on audio.

thanx again and cheers,

DeMuDi Wiki updated - A/uDeMuDi announce

Hi all,
I just added few words about A/uDeMuDI, which will be mainly a uclibc based version of A/DeMuDi.
