Screen and Window Manager options

Hi.

I would like change some Demudi configurations, but I have a set of
questions:

((1)) How to obtain 800x600 screen resolution? I only get that
resolution using Gnome, and with some problems running Qt programs. But
I would prefer to use BlackBox.

((2)) How to set blackbox as default window manager? (.desktop file
doesn't work.)

((3)) How to configure the keyboard layout for blackbox/fluxbox? Again,
I can do it only for Gnome.

((4)) How to disable the graphic login?

Regards,

soundcard/usb midi trouble

Hi folks

I've got to stop this messing around... It's getting me in all kinds of
trouble.

I'm hoping somebody can help.

Traded out M-Audio Audiophile for Delta 66. For some reason my Radium
USB controller keyboard no longer works. It doesn't show up in Jack,
and tail -f /var/log/messages gives me this when I plug it in:

May 1 01:09:18 pig kernel: usb 3-2: new full speed USB device using
uhci_hcd and address 2

Booting with the Radium connected gives a long string of these messages.

Alsaconf doesn't help any.

The Audiophile has a MIDI port built in. Could this be a problem with
reassigning MIDI ports or something?

Thanks for any help you folks can offer.

cheers

This is what I do.

As root
# cd /etc/rc2.d
# mv S99gdm K99gdm
actually you should really use the update-rc.d command to do this.

Then you edit or create ~/.xinitrc and make the last line of the file
exec blackbox

Then you can start x sessions from the command-line with
$ startx

Yes, I agree, this is normally the case but there have been odd
occasions where to compile hardware modules the full source needed to be
available.

Re: soundcard/usb midi trouble - fixed?

Hi all

Sorry - I may have jumped the gun. Just installed the m-audio firmware
loader for the Radium and it works fine again.

I wish to install agnula/demudi on a computer without a cdrom drive, which is networked to computers with cdrom/dvd drives. The latter are unsuitable because they have only ntfs drives whereas this also has a vfat hd and is the one used for music. Can you offer any help?
Many thanks -

Hey,

I am a new linux user, and have tried a few distro's out.. the one
that i have really taken a liken to using is demudi, but i need to
learn to use the programs within but that will come in time. I was
wondering if i wanted my ntfs partitons to show under demudi what
would the string that im supposed to add to my fstab look like? and
where abouts in the fstab should i put the code.. I just want to be
able to play mp3 files and movie files from my ntfs harddrive, i
figured out how to edit with gedit from the root term. Also, I have
tried to download the packages for gyach enhanced the bz2 packages and
i installed them, but can't get the final gyach file to run.. :( is

Re: nfs and modifing fstab?

I suggest that you joint the AGNULA users mailing list.

Have a look at "man fstab". I suggest that you install the packages ntfsprogs
and ntfsdoc.

For documentation of the NTFS support see:
Linux-NTFS Project
http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/

Cheers,
Andreas
