ICNP 2008: Call for papers

[Sincere apologies if you receive multiple copies of this CFP.]

CALL FOR PAPERS
ICNP 2008
16th IEEE International Conference on Network Protocols
Orlando, Florida
October 19-22, 2008

ICNP 2008, the sixteenth IEEE International Conference on Network
Protocols, is a conference covering all aspects of network protocols,
including design, analysis, specification, verification,
implementation, and performance. ICNP 2008 will be held in Orlando,
Florida, on October 19-22, 2008. Papers with significant research
contributions to the field of network protocols are solicited for
submission. Papers cannot be previously published nor under review by
another conference or journal. Topics of interest include, but are not
limited to:

1. Protocol testing, analysis, design and implementation
2. Measurement and monitoring of protocols
3. Protocols designed for specific functions, such as: routing, flow
and congestion control, QoS, signaling, security, network
   management, or resilience
4. Protocols designed for specific networks, such as: wireless and
mobile networks, Ad hoc and sensor networks, virtual networks, and
   ubiquitous networks

Papers must deal specifically with protocols. Papers of general
networking nature where protocols are only a secondary focus will be
considered only if they are of exceptional high quality and only a

Goal and Overview

==================

The Performance Control in WirelessSensor Networks Workshop will be a

half-day, peer-reviewed workshop on Friday, May 19, 2006. The aim of

the workshop is to bring together professionals from academia and

industry to discuss performance issues in wireless sensor networks.

The focus of the workshop will be on work in progress.

Call for Papers

===============

Wireless sensor networks are currently the subject of intense research

and many prototype installations are currently investigated. These

existing sensor network installations have in common that they are not

considered time critical. No immediate action has to be undertaken as

a response to the received data. However, many future application

areas of wireless sensor networks such as plant automation and

control, traffic management or medical applications require this

feature. In such environments, data has to be transported reliable and

in time through the sensor network. In other words, performance

guarantees regarding a variety of network parameters are required. Due

to the lack of appropriate models, components and protocols it is

currently very difficult to construct and operate a wireless sensor

network with a controlled performance. Thus, the commercial success of

wireless sensor networks in many application areas is unsure unless

this particular problem is understood and solved.

Topics of Interest Include:

===========================

This workshop intends to bring together researchers and practitioners,

working on performance issues within wireless sensor networks. Areas

of interest include, but are not limited to:

   * Models: Traffic models, channel models, mathematical models to

balance performance parameters in the network.

   * MAC protocols: MAC protocols with deterministic behavior, MAC

protocols to balance forwarding performance and energy consumption.

   * Routing and topology control: Methods to stabilize network

     topology, topology robustness.

   * Data transport: Control of data transport delay and reliability,

methods to improve data forwarding performance in sensor networks.

   * Operating systems: Performance optimization and control of

     sensor network operating systems.

   * Middleware and frameworks: Middleware/frameworks providing

performance guarantees for sensor network applications.

   * Security: The impact of security features on network performance.

Paper Submissions:

==================

The paper can report on work in progress. The size of the paper should

not exceed 8 pages (Please adhere to the formatting standard for a

manuscript of the Springer-Verlag LNCS). The cover page must contain

an abstract of about 150 words 3-5 keywords, name and affiliation of

author(s) as well as the corresponding author's e-mail and postal

address. Authors of accepted papers are expected to register and

present the paper at the Workshop.

Paper submission procedures will be announced on:

http://www.cs.ucc.ie/~ur1/networking2006/

RF/VPN

Hi,

How are you doing? I am still looking for an VPN SW Development Guru for here in Toronto, are you sure you are not interested? Here is the link again, and just to remind you - 6 figure compensation is being offered:

I have also just got a new requirements that you may be able to help me with. "This postion requires someone with a very thorough understanding of ATM, SNMP, IP, Scripting, Telephony and RF." This role is based in Toronto, and very favourable rates are being offered. I know this role would not suit you but know that Nortel has a very large RF Testing department so hoped you may be able to recommend some names. Here is a link to the jobspec:

Take care and please let me know in both roles either way

RE: RFC2547bis doubt

PE-CE ptp link subnet (say /30) is part of the L3VPN routing table then you could use same ptp addressing for interconnecting the same PE to CE1 (VPN A) and to CE2 (VPN B).

You must use different RD to discriminate routes from VPN A and B.

Objet : RFC2547bis doubt

Hi,
Can IP address of CE routers, over which they establish BGP session with PE, overlap?

Means two CEs, say CE1 (in VPN A) and CE2 (in VPN B), having same IP addresses, can have bgp session to same PE.

Here I m not talking about VPN routes, I m only talking about CE router's IP address. Having same IP addresses may lead to lots of complication in the implementation.

I wud appreciate if u give justification with the answer.

Thanks and Regards
