The Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) [1] defines a Link Control Protocol
(LCP) and a method for negotiating the use of multi-protocol traffic
over point-to-point links. PPP Vendor Extensions [2] adds vendor-
specific general-purpose Configuration Option and Code numbers. This
document extends these features to cover vendor-specific Network,
Authentication, and Control Protocols.

PWG-ANNOUNCE> Free XML Schema Validator (XSV 2.5)

Hi,

[worth adding to your bag of local XML tools]

I've found this free command-line XML Schema Validator
to be very useful. It's co-written by Henry Thompson
(W3C staff) and the project is hosted at University of
Edinburgh (Scotland).

The latest version is 2.5. I've been using a much
older version 1.4 with excellent results for several
months.

The durable link for status of the LATEST version is:

    http://www.ltg.ed.ac.uk/~ht/xsv-status.html

This latest status document always contains info on
how to download the Win32 self-installing package
(v2.5 is about 1.3MB). There are also sources and
binaries for Linux and other platforms, as well.

Cheers,

Also, for those wanting a tiny XML library for their (embedded)
apps, my free Mini-XML library is available at:

     http://www.easysw.com/~mike/mxml/

It is about 1/100th the size of libxml2...

The charter of the Point-to-Point Protocol Extensions (pppext)
working group includes the responsibility to 'actively advance PPP's

further enhancements of questionable value.' In support of that

Re: PWG-ANNOUNCE> Reminder-Just FORMAL VOTE ON the Web Based Monitoring and Management Working Group Charter

I already voted to accept the WBMM charter but I did not copy pwg-announce. When I saw Bill's vote to accept I realize it is probably a good idea to copy the world.

So, just to let you know... IBM enthusiastically supports WBMM.

I think this puts me squarely in the "vote early and vote often" camp ;-).

Just a reminder to cast your vote. The process does not define a quorum requirement, but a poor turnout would  be interpreted as a lack of interest by  those working on the effort. So if showing that your company has no interest is not your  intent, please vote.

Many thanks.
