RMD WGLC Extension

I discussed this with Martin and agree that we should extend the WGLC by
one week. We need to get comments that the WG has read the document and
is comfortable with forwarding this to the IESG. As noted during the
IESG Review of GIST, the IESG will take a very critical review of all of
our WG's documents, so we need to be sure that we have consensus behind
this.

Summary Refreshes on QoS NSLP

Hi all,

I'm from the University of Coimbra and I've been working on QoS NSLP v13.

When reading about summary refreshes I wondered how we could decide what
sessions to include in the summary refreshes list. I believe that we could
not only include ready to refresh sessions but also sessions that in will
shortly (less than one second or so) be ready to refresh.

Is this assumption correct? Is there any way to calculate whether we should
refresh a session earlier or not, so that we can include it in the summary
refresh list?

Thank you in advance,
David Palma

RE: RMD WGLC Extension

Do you think the document should mention the PCN WG? To me, the
relationship with PCN seems an obvious thing for the iesg to ask.

For example maybe the doc could explain that part of RMD forms "part of
some research or development effort" that has (is) contributing to PCN
WG standardisation [quote from BCP9 about Experimental docs]. I don't
know if something more detailed would be expected?

Best wishes

Re: Summary Refreshes on QoS NSLP

Hi David,

What you describe is an implementation issue and depends on the
deployment. Thus, we can't give any solution. Something along your
description could be one way forward.

Cheers,
Jukka

RE: I-D ACTION:draft-ietf-nsis-y1541-qosm-04.txt

Hi All,

Editorial changes have been made to "Y.1541-QOSM -- Y.1541 QoS Model for
Networks Using Y.1541 QoS Classes"
to conform to changes in the QSPEC draft over the last few months. Also
updated the IANA Considerations section to specify required QSPEC
parameter IDs and new registry.

The draft should now be ready for WGLC.

Thanks,
Jerry

Parsing QSpec with Initiator/Local QSpec

Hi Jerry,

I'm currently trying to work out how to correctly parse QSpec objects
where there are both Local and Initiator QSpecs.

My understanding is that the format is roughly:
QSpec Header
[1 or more QSpec objects]
QSpec Header
[1 or more QSpec objects]

On my current understanding, I seem to be able to reach a situation
where I'm processing the first set of QSpec objects, and I don't know
whether the next thing I'm looking at is another QSpec object or the
second QSpec header.

I thought that the combination of QoS NSLP message type and QSpec Proc
(Msg Seq + Obj Comb) should tell me what set of QSpec objects to expect
in each case. However, there is one case where this is unclear, i.e.:
Message Sequence = 1
Object Combination = 2
QoS NSLP Message = RESERVE
(see section 5.3.2)

I'm a little unclear, but I think the (Min QoS) is not always there. Is
that a correct interpretation?

If so, then at this point in processing the QSpec I can't be sure
whether the next thing I expect is a Min QoS object or a second QSpec
header.

RE: RMD WGLC Extension

Hi John

Note that we need to do some few changes that are related
to the current discussion status of QSPEC template draft.
Further I had a comment on retransmissions on the RMD-QOSM aware domain.
We will also have to work this out!

Best Regards,
Georgios
