Last Call: draft-ietf-mboned-ipv4-uni-based-mcast (Unicast-Prefix-based IPv4 Multicast Addresses) to Proposed Standard

The IESG has received a request from the MBONE Deployment WG (mboned) to 
consider the following document:

- 'Unicast-Prefix-based IPv4 Multicast Addresses '
   <draft-ietf-mboned-ipv4-uni-based-mcast-06.txt> as a Proposed Standard

The IESG plans to make a decision in the next few weeks, and solicits
final comments on this action.  Please send substantive comments to the
ietf <at> ietf.org mailing lists by 2010-05-17. Exceptionally, 
comments may be sent to iesg <at> ietf.org instead. In either case, please 
retain the beginning of the Subject line to allow automated sorting.

During WGLC for draft-ietf-mboned-session-announcement-req-03, only 3 
people spoke up (1 in favor, 2 opposed).  This is obviously not enough 
input to determine consensus either way, and we'd like to receive more 
input from the WG before making a decision on this document.

Please respond if you'd like to see this document advanced or not, as well 
as if you think this document is ready for publication.

SAP spawned from the same early assumptions which gave us Network
Based Source Discovery in the control-plane as well. ASM has no place
in interdomain multicast and I would agree that neither does SAP.
