Notice

Hi!

If the list is still around and someone is listening,
I assume that the new I-D:

tp://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-hedberg-alvestrand-ndd-00.txt

ought to be interesting to the listener.

Inter-Organizational directories: Attempting to resurrect LSD

Hi,

Roland and I are trying to resurrect the LDAP Service Deployment theme,
focusing on directory structures that are not under a single organization's
control, and how it is possible to work out the linkages between those
directories to allow things like multi-directory searching.

We're applying to the ADs for a BOF in Oslo; anyone who's interested in
these subjects should join the LSD mailing list, or contact Roland
and/or me.

The list seems now to be hosted at IMC (ietf-lsd <at> imc.org), so
you can probably subscribe by sending "subscribe ietf-lsd" to
majordomo <at> imc.org.

Please followup on this message to ietf-lsd!

Have fun!

                Harald A

Re: Inter-Organizational directories: Attempting to resurrect LSD

Since linking inter-organizational directories was one of the main goals of
the CIP tagged index object specification, I hope that document will be
discussed. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend the Oslo meeting
(unless some kind benefactor wants to pay for my trip). I don't know the
status of the CIP documents, but I bet that Roland does!

One of the major projects to be presented in Oslo is TISDAG, which uses
the whois++ protocol as an internal protocol.
The implications have been interesting, and I look forward to having them
presented.
