Reminder - Call for candidates for additional WG co-chair for CAPWAP

This is a reminder that the following call for candidates was issued a
few days ago and will expire on July 7, 2006.

-------------------------

In order to increase the efficiency of the work in the CAPWAP Working
Group (http://www.ietf.org/html.charters/capwap-charter.html), and in
order to accelerate the consensus process in the Working Group, the Area
Directors decided to create a third co-chair position for the CAPWAP WG.

The ADs have decided to write down a brief profile for the WG chair(s).

We would like you to consider this profile and either nominate yourself
or other people that you think that would fit well in this role by
sending mail to the OPS ADs.
(<dromasca <at> avaya.com> and <david.kessens <at> nokia.com>).

We do not intend to disclose the names of the nominees in public, but we
will probably solicit for feedback with various other people. If you
have a problem with your name being mentioned in this context, pls let
us know.

Note that this profile is written for a somewhat ideal candidate. We
fully realize that such people are probably non-existent, so don't
hesitate to nominate somebody who in your opinion would fit this role
quite well but doesn't fit this profile 100%. And the intend is to end
with a team of co-chairs that can complement each other and work
together.

IETF66 - Recommendations for travel from airport to hotels?

Does anyone have any recommendations for methods
of travel from the airport to the Delta Hotel?

I do not see any information on either the IETF66
or Delta Hotel web sites.

Thanks.

Re: IETF66 - Recommendations for travel from airport to hotels?

someone told me that the cost from YUL airport to montreal downtown is about canadian 35 $. it seems that
there was no shuttle bus to the hotel.
It is better that IETF can recommend some good travel methods from airport to downtown hotels.

RE: IETF66 - Recommendations for travel from airport to hotels?

The following information is from
http://www.montreal.com/tourism/general.html .

Airports:

Pierre Elliott Trudeau International, 22 km west of downtown, now serves all
domestic, U.S. and international passenger flights.

Mirabel International, 55 km northwest of downtown, serves only cargo
flights now.

A taxi ride from anywhere in town to Trudeau Airport costs a flat rate of
$31.

Aerobus shuttle bus service runs from the downtown bus terminal
(514-842-2281) with several stops before taking the highway. Fares are lower
than taxis: $12 to or from Trudeau.

It is also possible to get to Trudeau Airport by taking regular city buses:
the 211 and the 204 will get you there from downtown, but the 211 could be
tricky with a lot of baggage at busy times of day.

Hope it helps!

Has anyone had FTP work for them when not in "passive" mode since
this configuration change was made?

My site's got a clunky old ftp-based mirror script in use which at
first glance doesn't seem to know anything about passive mode, and it
hasn't fetched any new RFCs since a month ago. Running ftp directly
(over ipv4, from a couple of machines, one of which has no ipv6
configuration and no recent software changes) doesn't work either,
commands like LIST get back "failed to establish connection"
immediately.

I'm probably going to throw away the mirror script anyway and switch
to rsync, but I'm still curious to know whether this is some weird
problem with our configuration (maybe a surprise related to the ipv6
changes?), or an intentional (but unannounced?) or unintentional
configuration change in ftp support at the server side....

In April (last time I went there), it was Canadian $35, a flat rate
(no meter). Canadian $35 is about US $31.50 (today's rate).

You can share rides in cabs (i.e., two ride for the same price).

Soccer/Futbol. IPv6. Both have lots of 1's and 0's and have a hard time

That tournament in Germany. What's all the fuss? (Get it? "fuss?")

And from the bus terminal to the hotel? Presumably taxi or city bus?
Any other alternatives?

Are they any shuttle busses from the airport that make stops at the
downtown hotels?

Why not just googling?

I entered aerobus and montreal at Google, and found
the following link.

http://www.admtl.com/passenger_services.aspx?id=48

If this is correct, the aerobus takes us to "a few"
points in downtown from which we can take free shuttle
to "hotels".

Re: IETF IPv6 platform configuration

FTP over IPv4 stopped working for me about four weeks ago. Like you, I get
'failed to establish connection'
immediately. I flagged it as a problem and have had no response. I can access
shadow sites ok

RE: IETF IPv6 platform configuration

If memory serves me right there is a subway terminal built into the foundation of the Delta International.
Where the other end of the subway goes is another matter.
