Electronic Data Markup Language - EDML

We have been working on an open standard for structured data on the web
called EDML, and have just placed a draft version at
http://www.edml.com. EDML has been designed specifically for Web-based
EDI and allows encoding of data 'types' through name/value pairs in Web
forms, using coding schemes based directly upon existing standards. It
can be used either independently of XML or alongside it. Sample EDML
"Types" have been defined for EDIFACT, GEDCOM and HL7.

We are keen for any comments and hope that the work done for EDML may be
of use for those developing Internet-based EDI, XML or 'metadata'
applications.

Regards

RE: Ted.Net to improve SMTP for EDI

Jean Paul, I expect the consensus of this group EDIINT will be necessary
to get your document approved by IETF, since our charter seems to cover the
area you are addressing. Please create dialogue and explain why we need
this in business requirements and then the technical implementation.

Send mail to ietf-ediint-request <at> imc.org to sign up for the list... with
"subscribe" in the body of the messages.

Thanks, Rik

I red lot of drafts about Internet and EDI . For me,
"draft-ietf-ediint-as1-05" has a very big added value, which is not the
case
for RFC1767".
But most solutions appear to be based on PKCS which is too sophisticated
for
the kind of Interchanges I am dealing with.
Besides, key distributions and compatibility between a large number of
partners belonging to various organisations arise lot of problems.
At the moment, we have to make our best of simpler mechanisms.
I paste the last version of the Ted.Net draft, which is I hope a way to
keep
it in US ASCII with RC-LF ....

EDIFACT, X12 and IETF on Secure Internet EDI

Bob, I enjoyed lunch and other meeting with you earlier this week.

I am looking forward working with you on X12 and EDIFACT formally reviewing
the IETF work (from workgroup EDIINT) for secure EDI over internet, and
possibly subsequently formally supporting the documents.

Please forward this message to those in the X12 Workgroup 6 meeting to
remind them how to sign up for the listserv.

                      Send mail to ietf-ediint-request <at> imc.org with
subscribe in the body of the message.

I think we should wait a week or so to let everyone get signed up before we
start the dialogue.

Regards, Rik Drummond

RE: What about EDI lights

EDI Lite. A simpler version of EDI, with a lot of not-often-used data elements removed. The effort is from
Europe and England.

I don't have a pointer to a web site for it.

Hope that helps.

Who is on the list from X12C WG6? - X12.58....

Please let me know. I would like to start the discussion to see whether X12 and CEFACT will official support
for our recommendations.

Hmm, I can understand X12C helping in getting an X12 view, however how
do you going to get CEFACT involved without?
