Information on Certificate Exchange Message

Hello,

Is there any information on the level of adoption of CEM?   I know it has been interop-tested, and some users are using it, but is it widespread, or still early stages?

Also, I am looking for an overview of how CEM relates to XKMS.   Is this available somewhere?

Any one wishing to comment on the CEM I-D draft should do so in the next
few weeks.

The "Features" I-D is now RFC 6017 so CEM can move forward in the IESG
review process.

Electronic Data Interchange - Internet Integration (EDIINT)

Features Header Field

Abstract

With the maturity of the Electronic Data Interchange - Internet
Integration (EDIINT) standards of AS1, AS2, and AS3, applications and
additional features are being built upon the basic secure transport
functionality. These features are not necessarily supported by all
EDIINT applications and could cause potential problems with
implementations. The EDIINT-Features header field provides a means
to resolve these problems and support new functionality.

update on draft-meadors-ediint-features-header and IANA review requested

Alexey, Nevil,

I have made the changes to the BNF and other comments and re-submit my I-D.

Graham,

Per conversation with Alexey, I am requesting an IANA expert review on a registering a new http and email header, EDIINT-Features. The request is in the I-D listed below.  Thank you.

I-D ACTION:draft-ietf-ediint-compression-08.txt

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts
directories.
This draft is a work item of the Electronic Data Interchange-Internet Integration Working Group of the IETF.

Title : CMS - Compressed Data Content within an EDIINT 'AS' Message
	Author(s)	: T. Harding
	Filename	: draft-ietf-ediint-compression-08.txt
	Pages : 8
	Date : 2007-6-11

The EDIINT(EDI over the INTernet) WG(Working Group) over several
years developed the following 'AS'(Applicability Statements):
   AS1(RFC 3335), AS2(RFC 4130) and AS3(RFC 4823). These 'AS'
documents discuss methods for securely transferring
EDI(Electronic Data Interchange) and other electronic documents
over the internet using different transfer protocols, SMTP(AS1,
   HTTP(AS2) and FTP(AS3).

As more and more companies continue to use AS1, AS2 or AS3 to package
their electronic messages, the EDIINT community is starting to see a
dramatic increase in the size of files transferred between trading
partners. Typical file sizes of 10k or less are no longer the norm as
we start to see files larger than several megabytes(>500meg)
   transferred between trading partners.

This document will explain the rules and procedures for utilizing
compression(RFC 3274) within an EDIINT 'AS' message. It will also
discuss the procedures for building, parsing and computing the
MIC(Message Integrity Check) value of a message which is returned
in the MDN(Message Disposition Notification) receipt to the
   originator of the message.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts

	Author(s)	: T. Harding

The intent of this document is to be placed on the RFC track as an
   Informational RFC.

The EDIINT AS1 and AS2 message formats don't currently contain any
transport neutral provisions for compressing data when utilizing
S/MIME as the secure packaging standard. Compressing data before
transmission provides a number of advantages including

   1. reducing data redundancy, and so reducing opportunities for
      attacks exploiting redundancy, and
   2. reducing the amount of data and so speeding up cryptographic
processing such as signing, encryption, archiving, and
   3. reducing the overall transmitted message size, reducing both time
      and bandwidth needed for transport.

business data securely using the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) for XML,
Binary, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI - ANSI X12 or UN/EDIFACT), or
other data used for business-to-business data interchange for which
MIME packaging can be accomplished using standard MIME content types.
Authentication and data confidentiality are obtained by using
