joint ccamp and mpls working group last call on draft-ietf-mpls-explicit-resource-control-bundle+07

All,

in mid-February the draft-ietf-mpls-explicit-resource-control-bundle
was retruned to the MPLS Working Group from the responsible AD
stating that:

- it had been a long time since the working group last call
- the version that were working group last called was much earlier
than the one we requested publication for, i.e. the document has
changed many times since the wg last call
- this document is also of interest for the CCAMP working group, and
the working group last call should have been jointly between MPLS
   and CCAMP
- there is a need to poll both working group to see if there is
   an interest in this draft.

However it also needs to pointed out that there are at least two deployed
implementations and we need to amke the reservation of the code points
in the IANA section.

This is to start a joint CCAMP and MPLS working group last call on
draft-ietf-mpls-explicit-resource-control-bundle-07.

Please send your comments to the mpls and ccamp working group list.

The joint working group last call ends eob June 16.

/Loa

Clarification reqd: RFC 4802/03 XCIndex for Bidirectional LSP

Hi all

I require a clarification on the examples in RFC 4802 and 4803
with respective to Bidirectional LSPs.

RFC 4803 shows an example where the two cross connect entries
are created, containing references to insegment and outsegment
in each direction respectively.
Since this is actually one Bidirectional LSP , each of the Cross
Connect Entries contain pointers to the same mplsXCLspId as illustrated in the
example

However, if we assume the LspID as equivalent to the Tunnel Instance
in the tunnel Table Mib, each row in the tunnel table contains a
single mplsTunnelXCPointer which could reference one of the two
cross connect entries mentioned above.
So how is the other XC index referenced from the Tunnel Table entry ?

In order to achieve this, if we were to create a separate Tunnel Table
row with a new Tunnel Instance field containing a separate XC pointer,
then this degenerates to the case of two unidirectional LSPs in opposite direction
defeating the purpose of the gmplsTunnelDirection field in the Tunnel Table.

Could the authors or anyone in the mailing list throw light on this tunnel table
-> XCIndex Linkage for bidirectional LSPs ?

Thanks
Srivatsan

Re: poll on draft-shiomoto-ccamp-switch-programming-01

Hi,

Yes/Support!

I think this document clarifies the procedure of how the LSP be
established, and also provide the good support information for the LSP
establishment performance drafts.
