The group is still active in that 20-30 players show up every Monday evening to play games. It is merely the
email traffic which has fallen off.

Android tonight (Dec 12, 2011)

Is anybody interested in Android tonight? We are looking for a third player. We'll be starting around 6:45.
Beginners welcome, but preference will be given to people who know the rules, which are available online
on the FFG website.

Ok, you've got a spot, Randy! Let's actually try to start earlier (6:30?) because you have to leave earlier.

Introduction

Hi all,
Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Michael, and I live in Belmont. I've just discovered there
are a number of boardgame groups in the South Bay that I never knew about!

I'm looking forward to coming down to Yahoo on Monday nights, although if I don't make it Dec 26 or Jan 2, I
won't be able to make it until Jan 23.

My favourite game is Twilight Imperium, and my set can only be described as pimped. I organize games at my
local work (another SV software company) about once a month, and have about 20 games worth of experience.
I'm looking for more TI players, or other people who are keen on the some of the longer games.
My collection includes:

Through the Ages
Race for the Galaxy
Twilight Imperium
Twilight Struggle
Eclipse (a just released Space 4X game that is noticeably shorter than TI, but I haven't tried it yet)
Puerto Rico
Hannibal - Rome vs Carthage
Battlestar Galactica
Horus Heresy (old version)
Settlers of Catan
Munchkin & Star Munchkin
Also, the old GameMaster series:
Shogun
Axis & Allies
Fortress America

I'd love to hear from other fans of the longer more complex games, and I'm hoping to organize a game of TI
sometime in the week between Christmas and New Year (the 26th, 27th or 28th).

Cheers,
Michael

I'm not sure if URL's cafe will be open this coming Monday. Was it open last year?

Re: Introduction

Yahoo! has its "week of rest" (a.k.a. company shutdown) next week.  They likely won't even have the heat on in the cafeteria so Monday the 26th won't be a game night.  That is unless you can convince a Yahoo! to let you in and huddle in the cold over a game with you.

Monday January 2 is also a company holiday so the same applies there too.
