Caltech Winter

Does anyone driving up to the competition from socal have an extra
spot in their car for me. I'm willing to pitch in for gas and I don't
need a ride back.

Thanks
Chris

Times for the Caltech Winter?

I'm not sure, but when I went to the registration page, the times were
not there. When does the competition start? is there a schedule?

what does it mean by "Competition begins at 11 a.m. each day."?  is there more than one day?  So...on the side under the image it says 10am-4:30pm, yet in the description it starts 11am?

Registration and the competition begin at 10 AM, when the museum opens.

US National Championships

Hi Everyone,

This mainly concerns US competitors so I'll be moving the discussion to the Caltech group after this.  I was wondering how people would feel about having a regular tournament in Las Vegas every year?

I know the East Coast people really wanted stuff out there, and I am working on places such as Philadelphia or New York, but I potentially have a pretty regular opportunity in Las Vegas.  Potentially, we could make an agreement until 2011, but I wanted to gauge the interest because this would be somewhat of a commitment.

Re: US National Championships

i'm in, vegas is a great destination because hotel/airfair is cheap there because the casinos help out the airlines/hotels to make it easy to come there.  although it is a little biased towards west coasters, i don't see a lot of a east coaster that are able to commit time to having regular events out there so it seems like a pretty good idea.  2011 is kind of gut wrenching though because i turn 30 that year....ew.....except for that it all sounds great.

Re: US National Championships

Well, Las Vegas is pretty much travel for everyone, but it is a cheap plane flight.  The east coast people really do need to respond since this would inconvenience them the most.

I can probably maybe just get a deal until 2008, which would then be very reasonable.

Re: US National Championships

Vegas is only a good four or five hour drive (I think) from Southern California so it shouldn't be too bad.  Plus, Vegas is always a fun place to visit, even when your under 21 (two floor arcades!!  HAHAHAHA!!).
