Gaelcon's new home.

Gaelcon has a new home just outside Dublin city center. This year we
will be in the conference center of the D4hotels Ballsbridge Inn on
Pembroke Road. This is an excellent choice as we will have the
conference center to ourselves for the weekend including over night for
the running late, late night games and events and for those who will be
staying up the on site pizza palour will be open until 2am.
So how do you get there and back again?

By bus:
The Dublin bus routes 10, 18, 4/A, 5 and 7/A all run down Pembroke road
and catching them from the city center will generally have you arriving
right outside in 10 minutes.
The 4/A and the 7/A share the same bus stop and can be got on O'Connell
street or right beside T.C.D. How many gamers will you be able to spot
on the bus ?
The air coach from Dublin Airport also stops at the back of the hotel
for those flying in.

By train:
The nearest Dart station to Gaelcon is Lansdowne Road DART Station a
mere 5 minute walk to the Hotel.

By foot:
It is a 20 minute walk from the Stephens Green shopping center to Gaelcon.
Please check out the web site www.Gaelcon.com for more information and
for any queries please contact info@...
Looking forward to seeing you all in Gaelcon's new home October bank
holiday weekend 2009.

3:16 - Carnage Among The Stars - for sale

I have a few spare copies of 3:16 for sale, at €14 each. That's quite
a bit cheaper than buying it from an online store.

I can either post them (so adding whatever the postage is) or hand
them over in the city centre.

It's a genuinely excellent game, as described in these reviews:

I've been involved in the Indie Games Track at the last two Gaelcons,
and we didn't do anything like this.

We had games to offer, but few or no scenarios as games are either
like Primetime Adventures, where you brainstorm a setting and
characters as part of the game, or like Poison'd, where the game comes
with a built-in situation.

Greetings, fellow gamers!

Vaticon, UCD Gamesoc's annual convention, is just around the corner and
preparations are well underway. This year we have something for everyone;
whether you want to roll dice, play cards, rock out on Rockband, or even
swing a rubber sword about, we have something for you. Vaticon XV will
take place on the 2nd-5th of April, in the student centre on UCD's
Belfield campus, which should take you only twenty minutes to get to from
Dublin city centre. Admission to the con is 8 euro for a day ticket and
12 euro for the weekend. Here’s a small taste of what you’ll
get for it:

This year we have nine RPGs and five LARPs, including
“Outlive”, a fast-paced linked RPG and LARP game on Friday
evening. As is traditional at Vaticon, the Trilogy game, a tale told in
three parts and three systems will be running all day Saturday.

Vaticon remains the only games convention in Ireland to run a rubber
sword LRP, with "Into the Shadowed Vortex", a customised LRP running on
Sunday afternoon in our very own on-campus woodland. All players will be
instructed in the safe use of the rubber weapons before play.

On the Wargames front this year, we have a 1700 point Warhammer 40,000
tournament and a Warhammer Fantasy Battle 2000 point tournament, on
Saturday as well as participation games and free play all weekend.

For fans of Videogames, as well as a selection of consoles and games free
for casual play we invite you to step up to the Vaticon Video Games
Challenges. Try your hand at Call of Duty 4: The Mile High Club
challenge, Mario Kart: Walugi Stadium Time Trial, Rock Band: Battle of
