blurbing for Warpcon wargaming

Not sure who all is goign to dor PRO for the overall WARPCON but I figured no one will give out for blurbing this
part of it

			http://www.warpcon.com/

 Running from 25th to 27th January 2008

 Special Guest - Jervis Johnson

 LOTS of wargaming.

There will be plenty of prizes.

There will be the chance for the all clubs to attempt to show WAC how it's
done and actually win a tournament. Yes that is a challenge.
Yes we are more than happy to talk Trash before, during and after the tournament.
No we will not take it seriously in any way shape or form.

 Speaking of Jervis,
 - Q&A sessions with him to see what he'll tell about upcoming GW secret new stuff
 - Chance to play games with the man himself
 - Opportunity to have a Speed painted figure go under his hammer of judgement

So come on. Visit the real capital. Drink a real stout instead of that
water that Guinness hock. Play some games. Talk some trash, get trashed.
etc....

Vaticon XIV - Submissions needed.

Vaticon XIV is coming, and this year it's when you least expect it!
Since STOCS were forced to cancel Sillicon this year, they're kindly
letting us use their slot for this years Vaticon, and we're currently
looking for:

RPGs & LARPS: Writers of either will get free entry to the con and a
shiny free Vaticon shirt.
GMs for the Above: GMs will be fed and watered during their games, and
refunded con entry if they run a certain number of slots. (number yet
to be finalised, probably 2 or 3)
The Trilogy: We're currently looking for someone who's willing to
write and run the trilogy; 3 games, 3 systems, 1 linked plot, 1 day.
Whoever we get to do this gets free con entry, a free shirt, and also
a free meal at the committee dinner on the Sunday.

If you want more information on any of this, or to send me things,
emails to r4phael [at] gmail [dot] com, and put Vaticon in the subject
line.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Aonghus Collins, Vaticon RPG-Monkey

Dominicon

Right so I am heading to dominicon tomorrow, never been before and the
website seems to be lacking a lil information.

Like where exactly on either of the campuses it is happening.
I would assume that it is on over in the student center.... can anyone
confirm that for me ?
And there doesn't seem to be a proper timetable are things usually
that free form ?

Thanks.
Janet

Re: Dominicon

My plan is mostly to wander around looking like a lost lamb until someone
either converts me to the priesthood or directs me to the convention. That
said I've been to Maynooth once before, so finding NUI might be a bit of a
job in itself.

See yez all there. Play Requiem!

K2 2008

So, K2 2008.

Date: March 7th - 10th 2008.

K2 is a fully residential con that takes place in the Killarney
Country Club, Co. Kerry in March each year. The con is for over-18s
only and everyone must bring a game. After that it's up to yourself.
Accommodation is in self-catering cottages and every attempt will be
made to make sure you're staying with people you like. K2 is a weekend
of gaming and relaxing in one of the most beautiful places on Earth,
what's not to like?

ETA: Over-18s means just that. K2 attendees are, unfortunately, not
able to bring their children. There may well be scope for such an
event, but this isn't it.

Places are limited, so booking is essential.

Booking can comprise of emailing me at lir at lspace dot org with your
full name and address - real and email addresses please.

Prices for 2008 are:

2 nights - €100
3 nights - €130

Getting to Kerry is easy. Kerry Airport is about 14km away from the
Country Club and there are flights there from all over the UK and
Ireland.

RE: Civilisation Board Game

I take it you mean the Avalon Hill/Gibson Games version. I doubt it can be
got in Dublin as far as I know it is out of print. You should be able to
pick up a copy on ebay easily enough though.

Regards,

            Joe
